Im the boy in white....
Had to change this cause i Can't make another topic!!!
I know these topics come up all the time but im in **** atm.. lol I've tried everything to stop them but it just aint gonna work. Tried avoiding and everything. But anyway, theres this group of people that really don't like me for some reason and I reckon one day I will get jumped by them i know it sounds stupid but would it really be that bad? I've been boxing about 9 months now and can throw a damn good punch, but i've never been in a street fight so I don't know if I should fight them one or one or what? And i dunno if i can take a punch? Its really annoying me cause I can't go town as I know I could get beaten. I got my boys from my village but some of them are friends with some of them and they wouldn't come to my village to fight me anyway but i wanna go town.. You seen my fight video will i be able to beat em 1 on 1! lol jk

Err it was just a skills bout, so no judges.. Thats why the rounds were only 1 minute aswell. And for sum reason like near the end of the round you see where the ref talks to me.. he tells me to keep my power down :\

I got one of these coming up, a week from Saturday. Never been to one or seen one. Thanks for posting the vid!

I'll probably get told to keep my power down, too. :boxing:

You look good. Pretty quick. What weight class are you?

errm.. well im 15 and weigh 140lbs/10 stone/60kg im bout 5'6 - 5'7 aswell.. Im not too good with my hooks as you can see I only do straight shots really there, but skills bout things are pretty fun.. just hard sparring

Well, it scares the hell out of me. It'll be good to get through it. We're doing an inter-gym thing that sounds really similar.

Those are a good idea. It gives you some experience dealing with the crowds and the environment before you actually go into a real fight that involves a winner and loser.

You did a good job man, keep working and everything will fall into place.

However, you may want to mention to the guy that threw this show that you were boxing with 10 or 12oz gloves, which is strictly prohibited by USABoxing unless it is a sanctioned bout. Wear 16oz gloves and it is all good. Aswell, if he charged admission for this skills bout it would aswell be against USABoxing code.

Keep with it though, you did good man.

Thanks alot, Im from Cambridge England though, We were both boxing with 12oz gloves. Do you think there is anything else I need to train more specifically? Accept my stamina because that isn't too good.
Thanks.

You did good man. Here are my thoughts on what I saw.

1. Try parrying his jab with your right hand sometimes. You seem to like to lean back alot from his jab, in time after you step up the level of competition it will leave you sitting right there for his right hand. You can slip back sometimes but immediately you will want to get your head somewhere else after he comes up short with the jab.

2. Step in with your one-twos. You step in with your jab good but then when you throw your right you still have you foot planted way back behind you which causes you right hand to come up short. Step with the jab and bring the right foot up with your right hand. When the right lands your fist should connect at the same time.

3. When your in there bangin' and you throw the right hand instead of throwing the right and getting out just bring the hook after it. You will find that you have to spend that instant of time to get back into position after the right, if you bring the hook you are back in position except now yoiuve given him something that he has to defend. Bring the hook after the right.

Good job........................Rockin':boxing:
