I havent been on this board long, so maybe I've missed it, but I have heard no mention of several very good looking prospective heavyweights out there. Im not sure if you guys just dont know about them or dont like them or what, but very soon, they will not be ignored. If you know who they are, feel free to post your opinions about them.

Some of these guys arent ranked that high yet, but have shown to have fantastic abilities, specifically Samuel Peter, who basically knocks everyone out, and Nicolay Valuev. 7'2" Russian that mops the floor with everyone as well.

I've only seen two of these guys fight:

Sam Peter is slow and doesn't have that much power for a guy his size. The only time I saw Sinan Samil Sam he lost, so I can't say much good about him either.

My favorite prospects right now are Paulie Malignaggi at 140, Jermain Taylor at 160 and Robert Guerrero at 126.

I saw Samil San and I was not impressed. JC Gómez who was a former cruiserweight even knocked him down and took the decision.

Yeah, that's the fight I saw too. Later on that card, Mesi KO'd DaVarryl Williamson in Round 1. Later, Wlad fans would call Williamson a tough, legitimate opponent.

Malignaggi seems promising, I seen him in a recent interview he annoys the bejesus out of me w/ his fast talking flamboyant brooklyn style, but god he is a good fighter...

Williamson is a tough one but not the caliber of boxers that Wladimir should be facing. The only reason they gave him TOS was to get a W.

I've seen Sam Peter and Brian Minto, and heard things about everyone except Scott Gamar. Luan Krasniqi isn't really a prospect, he's been fighting for a decent amount of time and is more along the lines of a Herbie Hide or something, someone who will just never make the jump. Minto doesn't hit hard enough or and isn't slick enough to be anything really special. He stopped Maddalone, but it was more Maddalone's exhaustion than any hurting Minto laid on him. Faruq Saleem has been and will always be protected and so will never be tough enough to do something special. Sinan Samil Sam will turn into a Luan Krasniqi in a few years. Nicolay Valuev is overrated. He is enormous. That's as much as you can say for him. He's also clumsy, doesn't hit hard for all of his bulk, and he's protected. Which leaves Peter. He's a really strong kid, with impressive punching ability, a good chin and a passable defense. The biggest problem is his speed. Also, he doesn't punch in combination very often and so tends to be a little boring. When he's knocking guys out, though, he's interesting. Tell me more about Scott Gamar. Also, learn more about Owen Beck, who has a decent rep.

That list is flat out laughable

I was high on Peter when I first saw him, but he still hasn't made any improvments as far as I can see. The myth of his power has has pretty much been exposed. Peter his Shufford and Puder with everything he had and could even rock em.

As far as Valuev goes 7'2 is impressive im basketball, but this aint basketball. Being 7'2 in boxing is a disadvantage cause guys that big cant move and are usually slow as all hell. He has 30 something fights and has only fought 1 guy I have ever heard of Otis Tisdale and he flat out sucks. Hell Tisdale was on a 5 fight losing streak when he stepped into the ring with Valuev.

The rest are nothing more than club fighters.

On the subject of Paul Malignaggi this guy is being shamelessy protected. He doesn't have the reflexes to fight in the style he fights in and its fine now cause he's fighting 3rd rate guys, but when he stepps up its gonna bad very bad for him.

"Great White Hype" Listen this kid is flatout G-A-R-B-A-G-E! There's nothing good I see in this kid. His promoters will have a VERY hard time making him a mainstream name, cause the second he steps up the competition he will either get K.T.F.O. or y'all will see a Mohammed Hakkar act from this Brooklyn clown. I see this kid having a similar career path as Camacho Jr.

I think neils is obsessed with Wlad. Every threat that he posts is somehow changed to Wlad subject. How does Wlad relates to any of these new prospects.
By the way I saw Valuev fight and was not greatly impressed by his person. His puches even though powerful were verrry sllooowww.

I just stumbled across this thread whilst looking for info about the legend that is Faruq Saleem. Interesting to see how some of those heavyweights have stepped up whereas others are still in the same position.
