I sparred with a Southpaw for one of the few times in my life the other day....needless to say since I'm not used to Southpaws...I got schooled. What are some tactics to use when fighting Southpaws?

Well since you asked me to disrespect you in that PM you sent me, ill say this.

You're a gay phag lozr, that doesnt just get schooled in the ring by southpaws, but by everyone in every possible way; mentally or physically.

Does it burn?

Now go and carry out your threat. "Humiliate my mongrel ass in the thunderdome"..

yep but dont get careless you are obviously far more likely to be counter pucnhed then while throwing a jab against an othodox fighter.

let him jab, southpaws are typically great at beating you to the punch with a jab

1)Circle away from his stronger hand usually his left
2)Look for the right hand counter to his body or head and the left hook to his southpaw lead
£)Try and force him to lead but always keep moving.

I wouldnt offer fight him like you would fight anyone else because each fighter is different and each one have a different gamesplan to win.

You could used your right hand but also you must jab to neautralize his jab and set up the straight right. He as well could do the same for you with the straight left. But if he slips your straight right he could counter in the stomach

Tsyzu is a specialise in winning southpaws.

By the way i am southpaw :D

Fighting a southpaw who is agressive, has handspeed and power is hell. If that southpaw knows his moves, he can smack your face in awkward angles. If you put your guard too high, there's always the right hook to your body.

The lead right hand is basically a one-dimensional tactic against a southpaw, it only works if you can push a southpaw back and if you hit him enough to make him think twice before he splashes in.

Instruction #1 is the one I forgot about and it messed me up. I was circling into the power.
