u get told to go easy in sparring and the other guy comes out at 110% trying to knock your ****in head off.

went to a new gym today and after 15 minutes skipping the trainer put me straight in the ring which i was happy enough about.. tells me this guys a bit younger than you so dont go too hard mate etc. and yeah turns out the other guy has been boxing for 3 years (me about 5 months) and is out with the intention to kill. just frustrating. did well from the outside and was catchin him with stiff jabs and lead rights but was too hesitant to follow up. he caught me on the ropes a few times towards the end of rounds with my complete lack of fitness. didnt land too much and i took his best shots pretty comfortably so i wasnt too worried. still its all experience but i think ill make my own mind up from now on about intensity levels.

haha just thought id share with y;all

LOL at least you did well. I heard stories of people about to land a great shot sparring and just holding back because it was sparring and not fighting, and then getting countered hard. You can do more harm than good if destroy someone sparring, and you can make the point that you could have just nailed the other guy and then keep sparring and you both know what could have happened. Thats just my 2 cents on sparrinig.

That happens to me when I spar someone who comes in the gym to fight, look tough, and not learn boxing...With them, I just don't take it easy.

I sparred yesterday for first time. Guy i was against boxing 2weeks longer 15pounds ehavier told to go easy. So first round was a dud just a couple shots landed on eachother. 2nd round i threw more rights cuz trainer told me to then we started sparring was really fun, hopefully i sparrin agin today

I sparred a guy once and I was boxing as long as he was. I was about 18 and the guy was about 35. Trainer told me to take it easy and just jab. I am comfortable throwing my jab, then this dude rushes me and lands a hard right hand right to my nose. My nose was leaking everywhere so I had to get paybacks for that and landed my own bombs on the guy.

I know what thats like and I hate it. Especialy when you talk to the guy you are sparring before hand and you both agree to take it light and you get in the ring and he isn't even boxing with me really it's like he's fighting in a bar throwing huge looping punches. I was just taking it easy because he was new. I hate being the nice guy.

Nah, Jones if it were the first time i wouldn't have a problem but he did this four or five times to prove he's a tough guy a somethin.

I hate that **** too....trainer says to go at it 90% then the idiot across the ring acts like he is going for the title. What I usually do when someone does that is I hit him with violent body shots....body shots are the worse. Soon the dude is gasping I just keep beating his body relentlessly without letting up.
