Which of these guys is most likely to get a shot in their current weight class? would have been nice to allow mutiple answers in the thread; proably can't fix this now. i will vote for Wlad because Tatyana loves him. Cow head 10-07-2004, 09:46 PM Wheres Felix Sturm? Doesn't HOP want to fight him? neils7147933 10-07-2004, 09:46 PM would have been nice to allow mutiple answers in the thread; proably can't fix this now. i will vote for Wlad because Tatyana loves him. WBO? Over Brewster - or does he get a shot at one of the other 3? Nautilus 10-07-2004, 09:48 PM WBO? Over Brewster - or does he get a shot at one of the other 3? he can get a shot at WBA and WBO if King lets him neils7147933 10-07-2004, 09:50 PM Wheres Felix Sturm? Doesn't HOP want to fight him? I should have included him. He didn't hop into my head as one of the most likely to be able to first get the shot, then win it. Do you pick Sturm over Hopkins as the most likely over the other 9 choices? Cow head 10-07-2004, 10:40 PM Hmm not really, I definitely don't pick him to win, But i see him getting a shot earlier then half of the other choices, Maybe even most. neils7147933 10-07-2004, 10:48 PM I have a strange feeling that Holyfield's going to be a champ again in 2005. Sure, he's shot, but no more than Larry Donald. Then Don King gives him a shot at Lamon Brewster or a fourth fight with Ruiz (shutter) and the old man's title reign will be another source of discussion of how heavyweight boxing has gone to hell. Yeah but Brewster is probably going to be forced to fight Whitaker, Wlad or whoever else his mandatory at the time he heals happens to be. Does anyone know how long he is going to be out for? PERSONALLY i pray to God that Holyfield beats Donald, win the WBO belt from Brewster, which he better, then retire. it hurts to see my all time favorite fighter turning into a vegetable before my own eyes. seriously MetalVomit 10-07-2004, 11:32 PM Yeah but Brewster is probably going to be forced to fight Whitaker, Wlad or whoever else his mandatory at the time he heals happens to be. Does anyone know how long he is going to be out for? Don King finds a way around everything, i heard that Evander is a fighter of King's again, so we'll see. neils7147933 10-07-2004, 11:34 PM Don King finds a way around everything, i heard that Evander is a fighter of King's again, so we'll see. Yeah, Kali Meehan wasn't close to being ranked by anyone until King wanted him for Brewster's first WBO defense. Neuraxis 10-07-2004, 11:34 PM Don King finds a way around everything, i heard that Evander is a fighter of King's again, so we'll see. Yeah but King was going to have was going to have Brewster v. Holyfield and the WBO said no way Brewster has to fight Toney or whoever is the next ranked boxer. neils7147933 10-07-2004, 11:36 PM That'll happen in the spring; Holyfield could be wearing gold by fall. Neuraxis 10-07-2004, 11:38 PM This is such a joke then. Why are Manny and team Klitschko pushing Wlad if he has no chance of fighting for a belt? He really should be fighting fighters in the 20-40 range until he gets used to this new style and until he gets his confidence back. neils7147933 10-07-2004, 11:44 PM This is such a joke then. But if big brother holds on to his, and King to the other 3, it may be a handful of months before he gets a shot - and regardless of your interpretation of the Williamson fight, it wasn't one to send him up the rankings and create some urgency for a title fight. Wlad'll get another shot - but he may have to "pay some dues" in 2005 and get a winning streak together. Neuraxis 10-08-2004, 01:59 AM I wouldn't say he has NO chance. Well regardless of how the Williamson fight went, Wlad was the #2 WBO contender, and that cut is going to take more than 2 months to heal. He won't be back until February at the earliest. techn9ne 10-08-2004, 02:02 AM you guys forgot to list Henry Akinwande as a future titilist so i didnt vote shame on you neils7147933 10-13-2004, 09:06 AM you guys forgot to list Henry Akinwande as a future titilist so i didnt vote shame on you It says which of these is most likely... I'm guessing you're joking but I guess Akinwande could have a shot but probably not in 2005 - there's too many ahead of him in the rankings and some "bigger" names will leapfrog over him in no time. Tua probably eclipses him just by saying he's going to fight again. LuKahnLi 10-13-2004, 09:26 AM Mayweather is the only choice really. Holy is too damn old. Trinidad would have to beat Hopkins to get a belt. Hatton would have to fight someone real. No heavyweight will give Toney a shot. Taylor would have to beat HOpkins. W Klit is done. anthetamine 10-13-2004, 09:32 AM i personally thik that holyfield will be the next one to get a belt, i hope he is, maybe it will stop him from boxing on puppy_dogg 10-13-2004, 09:43 AM mayweather will be a champion next year. J ! 10-13-2004, 10:04 AM no no 2005 is the year of Ricky hatton, :p honest Frank told me, :p he did, but then again he said the same in 2003, 2004 etc   JOM'S 10-13-2004, 11:04 AM guys don't forget Manny Pacquiao, next year he will either face Marquez or Morales for a championship belt or belts..... realheavyhands 10-13-2004, 11:12 AM Wheres Felix Sturm? Doesn't HOP want to fight him? sturm suck but hopkins is gone fight him the trinadad then he done neils7147933 10-18-2004, 08:45 AM no no 2005 is the year of Ricky hatton, :p honest Frank told me, :p he did, but then again he said the same in 2003, 2004 etc   I think Ricky gets a shot at Harris or Tszyu/Mitchell or Cotto this year. He's been linked to all 3; surely one of the fights will actually happen. anthetamine 10-18-2004, 10:58 AM I Hope Hatton Does This Year, Everyone Takes The Piss Out Of Him Just Cause He Fights Over Here, Hes Still Really Tallented And I Can See Him Taking A Belt Off Every One Of Them 3 jack_the_rippuh 10-18-2004, 11:03 AM Yes...I was one of the people who voted Mike Tyson.. GranTorino 10-18-2004, 11:07 AM Holyfield wont get a shot at Ruiz in my opinion, becuase Golota is most likely gonna put him down, so if Holyfield gets a shot it would be at Golota, and I dont think Holy wants any piece of the Pole. Just my two cents. jack_the_rippuh 10-18-2004, 11:13 AM Speaking of Holyfield. I think if he were to fight Tyson again in a 3rd fight...he would get KO'd in one round.. GranTorino 10-18-2004, 11:30 AM Speaking of Holyfield. I think if he were to fight Tyson again in a 3rd fight...he would get KO'd in one round.. Yea, it would be pretty ugly. bigdlb12 10-18-2004, 11:31 AM I say Cotto,I dont like him much, but he is talented. Good power with good power neils7147933 11-01-2004, 05:45 PM I say Cotto,I dont like him much, but he is talented. Good power with good power Good choice - but he's already a beltholder. RussianArm 11-01-2004, 07:12 PM I think James Toney, he is one of the best heavyweights out there besides VK and Chris Byrd, he should take out Brewster or Ruiz if he gets the chance and then unify the belts. Very true, plus Holyfield said he isn't leaving by his own choice untill he gets another shot at belt. It would be nice to see Holyfield fight Ruiz, I have a good feeling the fight wouldn't last too long. ;) paulmmv 11-27-2004, 03:05 PM i think Wladimir Klitschko cause he championship materal olympic boy 11-28-2004, 03:04 AM with or without a belt PACMAN is the man!!!!! :D ................................surrender is not an option..........pacman vandaNEXTlegend 11-28-2004, 03:09 AM Who gave their pity vote to Holyfield? :) Ricky Hatton will be a major champion in 2005 maybe even UNDISPUTED. moochi 11-28-2004, 05:17 AM in all honesty guys no belt nowadays is a major belt........due to all the double standards practiced by all "credible" organisations.........how many "interim" title holders are there out there who have been promised shots at the champs...only to wait several fights.....i.e Danny Green? Many of the fighters on the list are worthy of being true champions however the politics and money in the organisations prevents them from becoming tru champions... olympic boy 11-29-2004, 03:25 AM in all honesty guys no belt nowadays is a major belt........due to all the double standards practiced by all "credible" organisations.........how many "interim" title holders are there out there who have been promised shots at the champs...only to wait several fights.....i.e Danny Green? I think he goes after and beats both Vivian Harris and Aturo Gatti for their belts. dodge 11-29-2004, 04:33 AM Hmm not really, I definitely don't pick him to win, But i see him getting a shot earlier then half of the other choices, Maybe even most.
