Quoted from sherdog.com
"Jeff Sherwood spoke with one of the promoters on October 29, to separate the facts from the fiction.
While there has been talks of such an event, it was all talk, and nothing more. No contracts were signed, no venue was booked. Currently, even the talk has died, because of lack of funding.
On a positive note, the plan is down, but not dead yet. Funding may return in the future - but right now, there is no BattleShip."

from www.MMAweekly.com :
Over the past couple of days, we have seen major websites say that the upcoming "Battleship" card was off. That couldn't be further from the truth. It looks as though, not only is the card going to come off at the beginning of the year, but they have plenty of funding for the event.
MMAWeekly has learned that the Battleship group has millions of dollars invested in this project. The hot rumor that is going around, is that most of the big name fighters are being paid a large sum of money as an apperance fee. It's believed some of the big time names will get paide in the ball park of $25,000 dollars to show up and then of course the big pay day is $250,000 that is guaranteed for the winner of the event. Those numbers have NOT been confirmed regarding the apperance fee, but it's believed they are in the ball park for the marquee fighters. Thus we are seeing the top stars in the mixed martial arts world involved in the show. Still no official date set. They are still trying to lock down a venue for the show. MMAWeekly will have more in the upcoming days.
