View Full Version : Suggestion for racial term to be added to the autocensor...
!! Anorak 08-20-2006, 04:53 PM P**i. From what I can gather, it doesn't have any real meaning in the US, so it's probably why it's not been picked up.
But I can assure you that in the UK it has the same currency as words currently in the autocensor - n***** and c**** for example. I'm all for a joke, but I've seen this used a few times now and it's not on. :(

Stop trying to pussify this site and protect your little bitch 2tough.
The guy goes around starting shit with people and the only reason he is called "****" is because he HATES pakistanis due to some racial thing.

THE REAL NINJA 08-20-2006, 05:49 PM We use the word more as the name of the race in short . But I would say the effect is the same but it is just not as well known here in the US. I agree with the thought because it comes down the same lines as the N-word which was originally used as a short word for Nigerian. This word falls under the premise when used in the way that some mean for it to be heard .

Yeah, it's being used under a get-out clause because it means next to **** all in the States. As the site is moderated by Americans they're not to know how offensive it is in the UK (and bearing in mind that 99% of its usage is directed towards a UK member).
In fact, the last paragraph of this site probably explains it far better than I'm doing: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/****
!! Anorak 08-20-2006, 06:26 PM It's okay, moot point, it's already been added. Nice one, guys! :)
!! Anorak 08-20-2006, 06:26 PM Although deriving from the word Pakistan, which was created in 1947, P*** became offensive during the 1960s when used by British tabloids to refer to immigrants in a derogotary and racist manner. In recent times there has been a trend by second- and third-generation British Pakistanis to reclaim the word, such as in the name of the clothing company PAK1 or the website ****.tv
The racism often functions on a subconscious level and unfortunately, awareness of the racist connotations may be confined only to the UK. In Australia, the Pakistani cricket team are commonly referred to as the Pakis, just as the West Indians are known as the Windies.
..........
Calling somebody a p@ki is no different then calling someone from the states a yank! Or somebody from England a Brit. They're just words. ****in' get over it. I have never in my life ever seen such a bunch of grown men acting like little girls over a typed word from someone you have never met. :bottle:

Why are you swearing at me for, brother? Did I swear at you?
As for it being "just the same as..."
No it's not. End of discussion.

I wasn't swearing at you. I was just frustrated over the fact that that guy can start a bunch of crap and be as racist as he wants and when he gets retaliated on, it's poor me and everybody is racist but me and blah, blah, blah. Here in the states that word is just that...a word. It describes a where a person is from such as Brit, Yank ect...
Nothing more than a word.
