"Method Man Gets Personal on New Album
August 11, 2006

The Wu-Tang member calls on Lauryn Hill, Scott Storch, RZA to pump up his uncharacteristically introspective effort.

Method Man
On his upcoming album, 4:21, The Day After, Method Man finds out what happened when he put down the blunt and picked up a pen with a clear head. "The national weed smoking day is 4/20, so I named my album 4:21, The Day After," Meth said in a statement. "Because after that day, you have this moment of clarity when you're not high and you see things clearly..."You feel like you're not in on the joke, and everyone's laughing at you. I felt like no one was taking me seriously. I got real angry and I just starting writing." Out of that moment of clarity came an album full of introspective lyrics, including the first single, "Say," which features Lauryn Hill and finds the rapper addressing critics and fickle fans for disrespecting him. Production on 4:21 comes courtesy of RZA, Scott Storch, Havoc, K1, and Eric Sermon.

Talk: Is 4:21 the new 4:20? COMMENT"

I will check it out.I have never been a huge Method Man fan but I kind of like what he is talking about with this different approach......He may be onto something because I always kind of looked at him and Redman as jokesters like he said.

From what I've heard from it, 2 tracks, it's destined to be better than Tical 0, which is one of the worst albums I've ever bought.

I would have to check it out first before buying any Method Man album.

I can't believe he went from a classic with Tical to straight garbage albums.

I really believe this is going to be a hot album. Meth's new song from it "Things They Say" impressed me.

That "Walk On" song is CRAZY! Does that sample Isaac Hayes' "Walk On By"? Sounds familiar, I havent heard the old one in a long ass time.

I'm nearly through it now straight-thru rather than jumping around like I did the other day. It's a decent disc, but well short of a classic in my opinion...

The beat in the intro is INSANE...I think RZA produced it.
