Recently, my knees are killing me when I run. I used to run in the track, street, grass, anywhere outside and my knees used to kill me. I started running on a treadmill and it was a little better but still started to hurt after 1-2 miles. So for now, I just take 3-6 mile walks on a high incline on a treadmill and some swimming to make up.

But I can't swim through the winter too and I need to know what to do. For you guys who had knee pain, what did you do to help it.

I'm thinking about buying those knee sleeves to wear while running, like the ones they wear in the NBA.

Why don't you just work out on the bag? DO it like an amateur boxing fight with 3 minute rounds 1 minute rest and gradually increase it. Basically train with purpose.

How fast do you run those 3-6 miles in?

IT also seems like you have runner's knee...it's from over training and doing too much running or work on the legs meaning you have pain when you run for extended periods of time. i would suggest a dynamic workout/stretching. pm me for details.

And I do work on the heavybag, but it doesn't like it's working my cardiovascular system. I feel it more in my muscles endurance rather than my stamina.

Honestly, I don't want to diss your program b/c you're a kid and all but I don't see the point in running for an hour at the time. That's just foolish. Why are you traning like that, especially for boxing? It seems like you're training for a damn marathon.

My advice during the winter would be to do tibada intervals and dynamic workouts/stretching. It will be a total body workout where you basically max out on everything you do for 20 seconds. 8 sets of that and then do some dynamic stretching.

That's the 20:10 right? I guess I can start that. I already do some intervals, 2 minutes running 1 minutes walking for 20 minutes.

I'll try the 20:10 intervals tomorrow everyday and see how it turns out along with those stretches. One thing, is the dynamic stretching like high knees and things like those?

Basically, but there is alot more depth to it. ALot more. I have a sheet that I made up a few months ago. I'll dig it up in a little bit.
