I've been feeling down over the past few weeks and unable to stay motivated. I am finding it difficult to do any training and stay on a strict regime. I was just wondering if you guys could help motivate me with songs, quotes, poems ANYTHING at all.

Same here man, I'm feeling pissed off and I'm not getting much sleep so my training is suffering. You are not alone buddy!

If you are training for a fight just remember that you are going to die unless you train hard - that should sort you out, not only because it's motivating but also because it's true!

And watch this little rocky montage;

The music helps get you fired up!

" Always remember that you are your best advocate and you and you alone will take you on the most powerful ride of your life."

" Why fit in, when you were born to stand out?"

" People says you can't but you know you can; let the fear inside you turn into great motivation."

" With a positive attitude, thoughts are toward trying again. Therefore, failure does not exist."

" Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together."

" Feed your faith until your doubts starve to death."

" The greatness comes not when things always go good for you. But the greatness comes when you're really tested, when you take some knocks, some disappointments when sadness comes. Because only if you've been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain."

" Fanatic consistency has in it the assurance of success. If good, the world remembers you with awe and respect. If bad, the world remembers you with disdain and disgust. Choice is yours."

One thing that always motivates me is to think of why you started boxing training. That always hits me right on the head and motivates me again.

i usually use music to get me fired up.
remember that if the trainin is for an upcomin fight that your gona give him hell in the ring.
train as if each session is your last.
when you see the results of pushin yourself to train when dont have the motivation to itl help you next time you train to push yourself even further.

The one on the rocky montage is going the distance I think, or on the first disk I thinks it's the final bell.

In one of the Solo Training books by Loren Christensen, he describes a poster which inspires him from when he was a police officer. It's aimed at prison guards and shows some huge, mean looking biker type lifting weights in the prison gym and has the saying, "Missed a workout? He hasn't."
While I don't work as a prison guard, I do think about that poster when I'm feeling lazy and it has the effect of pushing me a little harder in my workouts.

Just finished working out with the Hopkins-Tarver fight in the background and made me push a little harder. That performance by Hopkins definitely inspires me.

Always remind yourself why you're doing it. If it was enough to get you started, it's enough to keep you goin'. If not, then maybe boxing's just not really for you. Personally sometimes I really have a hard time draggin' my ass to the gym. But treat it like when you get knocked down, you just force yourself to get up, and keep on goin'. Just remember why it is you do what you do, remind yourself of that constantly. Especially if you're trainin' for a fight, good luck man, don't beat yourself up before you even get in the ring.

Peace

You can say I suffer from a bit moody/manic episodes from time to time and now is one of them.

Trying to train for a fight in a few weeks and the god damn blues have got me right now. Don't know where it comes from but when it shows up, it shows up hardcore. Im waging a raging battle within myself so when I fight another person its like a double team. I'm trying to spark back up my brain and heart but other circumstances inside are making it very difficult.

Hope this **** shakes off soon or I aint gonna have the desire.

You shouldn't need any motivation or inspiration. You should always be inspired to be the best - and that includes everything in your life. Success amounts to what you put into it.

Funny thing to hear from the "Raging Bull", who never had this problem. Think of yourself as an old man, past your prime, with no accomplishments.....

I have problems draggin myself to my workouts. Once Im there I love it though. My worse problem is my diet. My eating habits dropped to an alltime low this summer, and its hard to stay on a deit. Very frustrating.

My only motivation problem is pushing myself extra hard when I have to do long, tedious roadwork. I have no problem with diet as I used to be a fatass and thinking of eating crap makes me think to those days and I'm back in order quickfast. I also have no real problem with HIIT as I'm sorta used to it from football.

I do that sometimes. Also if someone pisses me off, I use the anger to go and train harder.

I absolutely love the theme music from Raging Bull, and have it on my workout playlist on my Ipod.

I'm gonna download Night Train now. Thanks.
