Since Manny has said he plans to retire soon, who do you think will be able to claim his spot?

If possible, could you also give links to matches of the boxer you choose?

What weight classes are they in?

What about Bautista makes you say that?

he has power on both hands, good technical skills for a 19 year old, very humble and has killer instincts in the ring

So he even has the same trainer as Manny?

Should be interesting to see how he does.

Do you have any more videos of him?

Pacman is a tough act to follow. No other pacman for another 30-40 years so we are enjoying the ride right now. Don't believe that he would be retiring even if he said it himself. Maybe just a random thought.

Is that why you guys get so crazy about him and act like he's the filipino Jesus/Ali? :p

Yeah, I hope he isn't really retiring, he still has tons to offer in my opinion and I think it is too early for him to retire for good.

Precisely bro but there's no stopping me to root for other exciting fighters like rafa, juan diaz, joel julio and others. Pacman is definitely an ali in the philippines but comparing him to Jesus is blasphemous in our culture.

Ah well, sorry for that. I have to remember to watch myself religion wise in here because it isn't exactly appropriate in this lounge.

After Morales, if Manny doesn't retire who do you see him fighting or who do you want him to fight?

If MAB wins against juarez then it definitely would be marco, otherwise there is JMM who won via 9th round TKO against jandaeng. Only potential problem against JMM is the puse...again.

Outside of those guys, who do you want him to face?

I haven't really seen anyone else mention fighters other than MAB and JMM after Morales for Manny.

Did you watch the Forrest/Quartey fight?

What do you think about the decision?

Malcolm Tunacao. He's the most underrated boxer in the Philippines.
He's a former WBC world champion at Flyweight division until he got KTFO by P.Wongjomgkam coz of weight problem..
He fights at the Bantamweight Division now and he's looking pretty good.
It's just too bad that he has a Japanese promoter nd trainer, that's why he only fight in Japan.

Gerry Penalosa
Brian Viloria
Rodel Mayol

Prospects to look out for.
Z Gorres
The Donaire Brothers
Rey Bautista

Boxing is back in the Philippines now.
All the young bloods there wants to be a boxer and wish to be the next Manny Pacquiao.
Expect more to come in the fututre.
We're just starting. :D

So Manny brought boxing back to the Philippines?

In a way, yes. The Philippines used to be a major player in boxing and is one of the countries involved in the creation of the WBC, just to show how big boxing was in the P.I. back in the day. The Philippines has a rich history in boxing and our fighters have contributed many things to the sport. It died down due to the business of boxing. The demand for Filipino boxers has resurged. Many promoters have signed or have come to the P.I. to scout our boxers due to the PPV success and attendance of Filipino fans Manny has been able to generate when he fights in the U.S. market. If you look at Mexican fight fans, aside from that of De la Hoyas, most of the fighters they root for are unkown by your average Joe Smith. Most of Morales, Barrara, Marquez' fans are from Mexico, which is right across the border from the U.S.. The same with Puerto Rico who have built in fan bases to satisfy the supply of coverage the networks and arenas are willing to provide for a market of people willing to spend lots of money. This did affect the way fighters were ranked by the Mexican ruled WBC. Filipino's were fighting for peanuts and getting robbed in foreign soil of deserved victories to pad records. Who would want to be a boxer under these conditions? Manny has shown Filipinos that boxing can be a way out and that there is support and a market for Filipino boxers. Manny has made the dream alive once more, and many are pursuing it once again. So watch out for more Pinoys to come.
