View Full Version : what did you all think of Judah vs Spinks
El Jesus 10-06-2004, 08:54 PM I couldnt see the fight because i was out of town, all i heard from my brother/father was that it was supposed to be a draw since apparently spinks got knocked silly in the later rounds, and judah went down in the early rounds, anyhow, is it possible you guys could tell me what happened and what you thought?

It was a great fight. I'm looking forward to the sequel rumored to be coming in Jan or Feb (until Spinks started calling out Trinidad, anyway).
It's one of the top 5 fights of they year. I'd check it out if you have access to it.

My memory needed jogging. I didn't think Judah went down early. I checked it out and Judah was down in the 11th; Spinks in the 12th. The reason that was exciting is that Spinks looked to have the fight in the bag (though not by a ton), and Judah's knockdown put the final decision in doubt.
ghostbear 10-06-2004, 09:17 PM The fight was frustrating for me to watch. Physically, Judah has everything he needs to beat Spinks, but he just wasn't focused and ended up giving away too many of the early rounds. Spinks got the balance knock down on Judah and then he finally started fighting and put Spinks on his ass in the 12th and hurt him. If Judah had fought the entire fight like he gave a damn I think he could have won.

If Judah could put together 12 rounds like he's capable, he could run the table at 140 and maybe 147.
Zab seems to have ADD or something. Wasn't that the fight or was it the one a month later where he got distracted by the audience and took his eyes off his opponent in the middle of the round? And you can remember the Tszyu fight...If his head was in it, he'd be headlining PPVs, not destroying overmatched sacrificial lambs on Don King undercards.
He can beat Spinks; I don't think he will though. But the fact that he has all the skills to do it and Spinks seems pretty safe right now with the current batch of welterweights makes me eager to see this one.
psychopath 10-06-2004, 10:21 PM ZAB gave away too many points in the early going while trying to figure out Sphinks . . . he rallied on the later part but Spinks has already established himself, so it too late. There was no pressure at all from ZAB that's why Spinks was able to gather his points in the early part.

I was actually yelling at my TV asking Zab to fight in the early rounds. He must have been high.
m00ks 10-06-2004, 11:24 PM Zab can definately **** up Spinks if they go toe to toe. I think he punches harder. He was a bit tentative and looked for the one shot kill. But he should just punch his way in.
Exciterx24 10-06-2004, 11:26 PM If there is a fighter in the worls that I don't like it's Judah.I was rooting for Spinks although I really don't care about him.
Exciterx24 10-06-2004, 11:27 PM In the world.
m00ks 10-06-2004, 11:31 PM Bro just edit instead of reposting,
Zab's an idiot. He said that him and Don King would die for each other. ....

Mostly Sonny and Jose.Sonny then returned about 3000 plus the donations that I got from some friendly posters helped me recover
everything.
techn9ne 10-07-2004, 06:38 AM Judah is too stupid to ever beat a world class fighter
in title fights he should be called Rembrandt because he just loves the canvas!
techn9ne 10-07-2004, 05:17 PM all the judah supporters have been silenced?
where is zabkillsspinks
or zabmurderstszyu
mic573 10-07-2004, 05:28 PM I thought Judah won a close fight had 114-112 I think. Spinks was able to control the first 3 or 4 rounds but after that Judah started to really start putting things together. He had Spinks a bit frustrated at times when he would land something that Spinks isn't accustomed to being hit with.

No I don't think so, ZAB really came out strong in the later rounds but that was not enough to offset the points that Spinks compounded in the early rounds.
If there would ever be a rematch I think ZAB knows what to do. He was very passive and tentative on the early rounds of that fight that his corner kept reminding him all along to push the action and throw combinations, it's all recorded and there's should be no dispute on that. That only shows that that they know that indeed they were behind on points.
