All i know is he's a scouser, and a former light heavywieght world champion back in the 80's i think.

John Conteh is one of the better light heavyweight champs, he is usually ranked around 18-25 of all times in that division.

John was a good fighter, at one time he was linked to a super fight with Bob Foster but it never came off.

He will probably be remembered more for his looks and his playboy lifestyle than his ability as a boxer.

He can be sometimes be found around some of the North West boxing shows!

My grandad drank with him and was friends with him before he turned professional. He says that he was a good guy who changed because of the money.

Yeah, i saw him fight. When training proper he was pure quality.
