All over mate, left after 7 months in Basra but did stints in NI, Bosnia(16 Regt RA), Germany and Cyprus!

Couple of places, I was with the Army Air Corps in Detmold(servicing Lynx and Gazelle Choppers) and worked with the RMP in Sennelager.

Know them both, I was posted to Paderborn and had a tattoo done on the Sennelager strip, there was a big NAAFI in Detmold wasn't there?

I didn't join up til 96, I was in Detmold from 98 to 99!

No I came out about 4 years ago now, I work for the NHS now providing software solutions across the North of England, the money is great so it worked out well.

Telewest is crap to be honest, since NTL bought them out we get **** on from above from them, the money is OK but I'm looking around!
My missus is a District Nurse at Halton so I have a bit of leeway!

Started at the bottom and worked my way up, began in late eighties after a junior stint as novice civvy and ended as Army Heavyweight Champion in mid 90's, lost in Tri Services final in Aldershot but qualified for the squad.

Did OK at most levels, then lost firstly in ABA Semi's then in Army Final to Vinnie Jones from 32 Regt RA.
After that I hung em up, had offers to go pro from Willaston and couple of others as my style might have done well as a pro but I was in my late 20's by then so I went into coaching!

I'm still boxing now (26 in August)so you never know, since I came out I've had 6 bouts and won them all, its going OK!

Yeah Vinnie was talented, I met him a few times early on and stopped him in our first meeting after 3 standing counts then I won on a MD in our next meeting, in the Armies he stayed at distance and scored a comfortable points win over me.

I heard he was an ABA finalist a few years back so it was no disgrace to lose to that barsteward! :rolleyes:

Plus we were in a few squads together and I could see him getting better and better, good luck to him he was a good guy!
