These guys gotta quit while they still can. Once you pass 36 you really need to stop rapping especially about some gangster-type **** like Dre always be doing (or should I say Jay and Royce Da 5'9, who writes for him).

These rappers gotta stop:
Ghostface Killah
Jay-Z (Oh yeah, he's putting out another album, and he's shopping around for beats now)
Nas after 'Hip-Hop is dead...The N'
Raekwon (43!!!)
Dr.Dre
DMX (he sounds tired on his new LP)

Yay or Nay?

raekwon is 43, and Ghostface is 38. I'm actually going to enjoy all of these guys' albums but it is getting annoying hearing them talk about some gangster-ish **** when they are not living that life and probably havent for 15 years. I actually like Raekwon's voice more as he aged but it is still annoying for me.

Do you think OBC4L 2 will live up to the hype?

both were born in 1970...

i think that linx2 will be succesfull if it goes by the same blueprint as the first one.

ahhh, that's what bugs me about a lot of hip hop heads. Times change and the same blueprint that worked 10 years ago isn't going to work today. And that's the truth.

Smokin', rap is an art. You can talk about whatever you like because it's all art. Imagination and illusion is part of the artistic process. That's like saying that someone shouldn't tell stories if they haven't done it. People shouldn't take everything in rap literally.

I agree with the Fix. If you got it, why stop?

I think it will fail miserably.

If the guys are still coming out with good albums then I don't see why they should have to quit.

Yeah I guess all you guys are right. Although it is funny seeing a lot of these rappers look like granpas in their videos (especially Common).

It's not like the younger rappers are really holding it down anyway.

That is true. Out of a lot of the younger guys the only people I enjoy are Joe Budden & Lupe Fiasco and maybe a couple others.

Why do you think it will fail miserably, mic?

Absolutely Nay.

Musical artists succeed at various ages; rap shouldn't be any different. Rap has been moreso about attitude than other genres of music, and if the masses decide that someone's done, then it will be reflected in the record sales.

The other deciding factor is that the "geezers" are not being replaced proportionately by teens or twentysomethings of the same quality. Most of the good rappers are 30+ right now...

Based on his last albums and the fact that people are already saying it will be classic. Alot of people will be disappointed when it drops because it won't come close to what it should be. Dr. Dre and Raekwon doesn't sound like a good combination in my opinion.

Dre won't give him that Wu-Tang sound.

nay - you look at other genres and people like aerosmith still tour and there like 60 - the fact is if the younger cats in the game became more original instead of copying eachother.

Anything Jay comes out with is usually on point, no matter his age. That goes with the boys from Wu- Tang and the other MC's you named besides DMX.
