The men went out and hunted for food. Sabre tooth tigers, pteradactyls, whatever they ate...the men bought home the meat. The women, stayed at home and scrounged around for berries or roots to eat with the meat. Now often, the fruit/roots/berries would get thrown away as they proved to be poisonous or just plain disgusting...but that tiger got eaten quick smart. So therefore, the womens work was often unappreciated and thrown away, while the men did the important stuff. Millions of years later, nothing has changed!
