Thats why I always hide from people that I am an honors student.
They usually see my "drug-sniffing, alcoholo drinking, male-whoring" image, that took me some time to create.

No, not really, but when I was 16, and jsut been introduced to the nocturnal culture, I've done stuff, I have stopped after a few months, but I never really tried to make it official, cause it seemed that people like what they see.

personally, i do not think that good grades = nerd.
i always did very well in school, but i had lots of fun too and knew how to find some balance

Also, it seems that people actually dig this whole
"bad boy" image,(I am actually my nerdy self when I am with my close friends) but if you want to become "popular" you need to throw in a couple of jokes about an 8-ball.
Sadly, most people dont realise that they are walking on a thin ice with all that stuff. But, teenagers are teenagers, you either learn or you screw up. NOw that I am 20 and most of my friends are of my age or a little older, most of them realise(me including) that all this "bad boy" image was a very dumb idea and we pretty much learned how to be ourselves again.

I was a bit of a loner in HS due to the reason that I liked boxing too much, and most of my friends were too much into boxing. I even did well in school, just so that my parents leave me alone and let me do my thing. But many people believed that I was one of the loners.

It takes much more balls to be yourself the nsomebody else.
Trully a brave person, can do what he wants and not what other people expect him to be.
I realised it when I was 18, I should have realised it when I was 15. If u do more power to u.

Yeh theyre just stupid idiots. Some will mature more, some wont. Just dont worry about them, theyre pathetic. Good for you for showing who you are man. Doing that proves you good. You have respect, read the article if you havent, youll like it and itll inform you. It talks about the school not being a real environment

Haven't read the article yet but school's are funny places by the very nature of penning up adolescents and young adults together like they do. You'll always get currency in school for odd things such as being hard or having sex with some loose girl or being good at sport, when none of those things carry much currency once you leave. It even happens at university as well. Eventually you stop trying to fit into an artificial environment and just find your own niche in the big wide world (Some people struggle but most get by fine).

Personally I'm mostly content these days, and I do what makes me happy, but its taken quite a few years to get out of the "getting hammered every Friday and Saturday night" lifestyle which isn't for me.

well you could be successful and not be nerd usually those guy are not into social things and they get picked because some people are envy or there real success.

if people cant go to there standard of thinking they want to bring them down and lower there self esteem.

sad but true it a ruthless world

Usually there are certain things that a person likes that puts them in the nerd category. Collecting action figures, Star Trek, Star Wars, Fantasy video games. Big ugly watches. Those are things just for starters that, if you enjoy, well not necessarily enjoy but kinda take to the next level, will give you the appearance of a nerd.
Most nerds that seem to retain the label into their adult years seem to have a problem relating to other people on a mature level. Just an observation of mine.

Nerds are only really unpopular at school right? Once you get past puberty everyone loves a nerd, assuming they have decent social skills and hygiene right?

This is true, most nerds go on to be successful thus becoming popular!

Gotta get to know intelligent nigguhs before you pass "nerd" judgment on em. Not everybody who knows **** is uptight and averse to havin fun. I've had some chillin times wit people who were str8 A students school. I ****ed around all thru HS and just got by, but I was summa cum laude in college and still drinkin my ass off every nite. :alcoholic
