CANSECO'S AN ALL-STAR - SORT OF
Yes, the Jose Canseco saga continues. The former Oakland A's slugger, who's only played in a handful of games since joining the Golden Baseball League, has nonetheless received special dispensation and has been admitted into the league's all-star game, which takes place at Chico (not, not Chico's house, but Chico, CA). Canseco, who played one game for the San Diego Surf Dawgs before being traded (at his request) to the Long Beach Armada, struck out 11 times in his first 13 GBL at-bats but has since gotten off the schneid, hitting a couple of home runs for the Armada.
He'll have a shot to show off his power swing as he participates in the league's home run derby before the contest.
Will Canseco win the home run derby contest?
