I bet your hardly loose. Try to lay on your back and put your arms above you on the ground, if you lift a lot you'll barely even be able to do it. Just start doing weight training and try to get yourself loose and fluid. You won't last in the ring if your tight when you box..

If all you do is just lift weights your body will have no elastic too it. Like you won't be as loose as you would be, if you only did weight training. Besides just lifting weights can slow down your hand speed.

Stretch and well in my opinion, but im no expert I wouldn't lift anymore. Feeling weaker is just a mind thing you need to overcome. Just do body weight trainings like push ups, pull ups, sit ups, lunges the good stuff. Just cause you might feel weak doesn't mean you are weak so look past it and just listen to your coach and what he tells you to do. I wouldn't be surprised he tells you the same thing I've told you, so don't be surprised if you hear it again.

I personaly found it work best using a mixture of bodyweight exercises and lifting weights. Along with proper stretching. I lift weights all the time but i also throw in my essential bodyweight exercises. Also if your lifting weights dont lift for size but lift for strength i.e sets like 5x5 for your compound exercises.

no, workingout will not help u in the ring, actually sparring would though, thats the best workout if ur looking to box, so of course a guy who spars would rip up a guy who only lifts weights, easy..

No, working out is awful. Don't do it. It makes you feel like shit.

Working out is okay, but I get the sense from your posts here, that you don't really know what you're doing. Until you get a coach who knows what he's doing, I'd recommend you ease off the weights, and concentrate more on actual boxing work.

If you plan on benching and curling your opponent, those exercises should be just fine.....

just do pushups crunches heavy bag, chope would and sprints, that will all build your muscle naturally , lifting ruins you

BS! If you plan on slashing your opponent with a jump rope, skipping should be a fine exercise for a boxer? Same line of thinking (the term is being used very loosely here...) as yours, and it's rubbish of course. Your posts help no one.

I beleive that with the right moderation and knowing what your doing AND the right exercises weights can help. Not all boxers dont use weights, take kostya tszyu for example, he mentions its one of his favorite bits of training too! If you do the right exercises and do it for strength and not for bulk it will help. Bulk is what slows you down. Also in a street fight boxing alone will probaly not help exactly but it will help when you are punching and dodging punches (especialy if your a brawler in the ring) but in a street fight there are no rules so there will be tackleing, leg use, headbutts, groin and eye attacks so in some ways yes but boxing alone no.

anyone asking these kinds of question either needs a new trainer or just wants to box to be tough and isnt in it for the sport.

boxing DEFFINATELY helps in a street fight trust me. Especially if you know how to counterpunch. Once you go on the ground it dont but while you are on your feet it helps a real lot.
