depends.. if its loose and someone punches you.. u can roll with the punch.. when your neck is tense ur head absorbs most of the punch

Dont do it all fight though because this could damage the neck muscles. Only do it when you feel you are about to get punched and you cant get away from it. Thats what we are taught. It takes a while to master but it'll come.

only tense your muscles when preparing to take a punch, but that is natural, the rest of the time your body should be loose and relaxed to keep from exhaustion in your muscles

No dont tense ur neck, because u will feel the shot more, and will have more chance of being knocked out, if u get hit in the face go with the punch
