Indeed.
But it was still much better than the Williams vs Harrison fight!

Not very hard though is it mate?
That fight was a disgrace to the sport!
:boxing:
MickyHatton 07-10-2006, 05:17 AM Still cannot get over the conditioning of Williams, what was he thinking???
To weigh over 285lbs is a disgrace, he looked at his best against Tyson and he was 20 to 30lbs lighter!!!
We all know Skelton is strong but Williams is by far the more talented fighter, if he was on weight and boxed he could outclass Skelton. The problem lies with the fact that Williams will never have what it takes to be anything in the sport worth talking about, the reason why, he lacks heart, soul and drive.
Hopefully thats the last we see of him!

he just needs a nutritionist, so they can guide him to loosing weight.

I think at 32 its way past that point.
Danny surely knows what it takes to be shape, he just cannot be disciplined enough to do it!
For an already large man 20-30lbs is just too much, a heavyweights weight can fluctuate 8-10 lbs but 20-30lbs???
Lennox Lewis is a bigger man again than Williams yet his heaviest was 256lbs and that effected him, so a 6'2 fighter at 288lbs is basically fat no excuses!
I am 6'2 and weigh around 230lbs so I know that if I weighed 280lbs+ it would severely hamper my performance, Danny knows this I'm sure but I honestly don't think he cares!

maybe a change of trainer? sum1 that will disipline him. in the fite, he was punching less than in the audley fite.

I would like to hope so but the problem with Danny has always been in his head, if the right Danny Williams comes into the ring then we have a possible contender if the Danny Williams that has shown up of late turns up then his career is almost finished!
I hope I am wrong but I cannot see a future for Williams, Skelton is hardly a World beater himself yet he has beaten Williams once some would say twice so.....

paul750 07-10-2006, 12:23 PM I actually think a calm trainer would help Danny more, like Joe Goosen, sometimes the stick approach doesn't always work, and a more calm method works. Only one who can really change it is Danny though.

Its a difficult question again, Williams fought Sprott 3 times and stopped him twice in the first two then lost the third on points!
That begs the question - if Sprott is stopped twice by Williams why does he agree to a third fight? I would say because he always suspected that Williams would fold (and he did)
Williams was always a good fighter at a certain level, the problem lay in beating Tyson (if that's a problem) people then mistook him for a contender and in my opinion he never was!
Lets not forget that Williams had lost to Francis and Sprott and had been destroyed by Samil Sam in his career leading to that fight, but the Tyson scalp propelled him forward even though Tyson was shot to bits.
He beat an overrated Audley Harrison and again people started to hype him up even though Williams was poor that night(it was just that Harrison was poorer)
Then Skelton, two fights and both times Williams has looked average, Skelton bossed most of the first fight by mauling but lost a close dubious decision, the second fight Skelton outboxed Williams simply because Williams had one plan(land a big right hand), this was a joke, for Skelton to outbox anyone is laughable but to outbox a so called good heavyweight sets alarm bells ringing.
Williams could beat Skelton every day if he got fit and trim and boxed behind his jab but he has issues with belief he has issues with training and he has issues with not taking the sport seriously enough!
I say forget Skelton, Williams and Harrison and lets look at our strong Cruisers in Haye and Maccerinelli. In a few years these talented two will have probably moved up to Heavy and I can see them doing well!
