Anyone else here try the Captains of Crush grips? I just got the Sport which is 80 lbs. It was actually pretty easy so I'll keep it as a warm up device and get the No. 1 which is 140 lbs of pressure. That should come next week so I am looking forward to going through the various levels to the No. 4 which is 365 lbs of pressure. That's a long way off :)
If anyone is interested in them, they have them at www.ironmind.com

I just got one of these forearm grips given to me as a present, but i dont know the pressure. Its a good little worker and you can see my forearms developing.

these things get good reviews. a friend of mine was supposed to throw me the first 2 levels of thier grippers, but he moved before he found them.

i've used grippers before, but find that there are more practical ways to get better grip strength. they do make a nice addition to more practical methods, though.

I've never done them but I here good things about them. But I wouldn't do just them for grip strength. They are accessory and supplemental to the bigger grip exercises such as farmer walks or thick barbell holds.

The better grip moves are:

-Farmer Walks
-Thick Barbell Holds
-Plate Pinches
-Any strongman exercise

those train different types of grip strength man.

there are three different types of grip strength.

1. crushing - grippers

2. holding/hanging - farmers walks, barbell holds etc.

3. pinching - plate pinches and specialized cc pinching equipment.

world strong men train all three types extensively, so you can't really say one exercise that trains for holding grip strength is superior to one that trains for crushing.

There are quite a few exercises to do improve grip strength but I like the grippers because I can carry them with me. I can work them on the train and pass the time constructively.

When you close two, how does it feel? I'm really curious if I can close one when it comes.

if you have to ask, then you woln't be able to close a #2 gripper all the way on your first try. to be honest, i doubt that hemichromis guy can close the #2 all the way, this is the internet ya know lol.

I certainly don't expect to close it anywhere near the first try. I'm getting the Level one and when I can close that easily then and only then will I try the next one.

i'm not really sure what you mean, it gets alot harder the closer you get to getting them to touch it took me a while to be able to close 2, at first i would get them to about 1.5cm then i would be unable to close them further so then i did pure negs to get my hands strong enough to close it

The important thing is to clinch your hand on impact....
