View Full Version : Wrestling lounge
THE REAL NINJA 06-28-2006, 09:25 AM Ok i see that some of the other boxing forums have them so why not have one here which would help compete from a busines stand point. There seems to be more and more fans here of wrestling but no place to talk about it without being told to get out,to have a spot for wwe talk could bring in a whole new group of posters which brings in more money to the site
neils7147933 06-29-2006, 12:13 AM I'd lean towards tna and ecw talk since I don't follow Smackdown at all and not much Raw, but I'd be interested in its own forum - in the Lounge you have the same folks with the same tired "wrestling is fake" responses that hampers the threads...
BIGPOPPAPUMP 06-30-2006, 04:56 PM is there that enough wrestling fans to not keep it from dying in a week?
Verstyle 06-30-2006, 05:00 PM is there that enough wrestling fans to not keep it from dying in a week?
no. im not a wrestling fan ne more. but i was at a time a huuuuuuuuuge fan. but everytime i look at it theres new ppl and stupid storylines. the only good 1 they got is the all mighty DX
neils7147933 07-01-2006, 10:57 AM is there that enough wrestling fans to not keep it from dying in a week?
I can't think it would be the most inactive on the boards - might take a little while to "take off" but I think it would get some new users posting there - and some nostalgia wrestling talk from the boxing people.
Remember the Ultimate Warrior and Hogan alts - and the wrestling downloads thread has one of the highest number of views of any thread on these forums.
Plus, I post in some other wrestling forums and would encourage some of the better posters from those sites to migrate here...
King Koyle 07-01-2006, 03:35 PM I don't really watch wrestling anymore, but I love to talk nostaglia. So it sounds good to me.I would post!
sleazyfellow 07-01-2006, 04:16 PM yeah its nothing like the old days of course...when i was small it was hulk hogan/ultimate warrior....now they dont seem to have anyone but a white guy acting like hes black, the same little factions making theyre comebacks..and just overall lameness of it all...the biggest it got to me was when stone cold was around a while back..like when him n tyson had the little pushing thing.
THE REAL NINJA 07-01-2006, 04:25 PM is there that enough wrestling fans to not keep it from dying in a week?
I am 100% sure it will work, if you look at past threads like "who is the best wrestler all time" they have a ton of views and reps. Like Niels i would start off from a nostalgia stand point, even ppl that dont watch today have a fav from back then that they will talk about .
SonnyG8R 07-01-2006, 04:42 PM You are welcome to make a wrestling thread in the adult lounge. I will even sticky it if it starts to take off.

jason100x 08-24-2006, 07:13 AM While I don't watch much current wrestling anymore, it is a great "nostalgia" subject and it is even fun to discuss the ridiculousness of current storylines and behind the scenes so a wrestling lounge would be a good idea.

fantasy wrestling matches? wrestling is fantasy so i dont think having match ups between certain wrestlers would be good, it is scripted after all and the ppl who squash other wrasslers are just trying to be built up into monsters....i.e goldberg, lesner, umaga, when in real life, chris jericho choked out goldberg, and booker t knocked out batista, i love how these wrestlers can get egos soo big they think they really are the ****...

THE REAL NINJA 06-22-2007, 01:05 AM Source - Wrestling Observer Newsletter
As we have been reporting over the last two weeks the entire purpose of the Vince McMahon “death” angle is to draw more attention to WWE’s Monday Night RAW and bring the show higher ratings. This came after increased pressure was put on WWE by the USA Network and Bonnie Hammer (President of USA Network & Sci-Fi) to return RAW back to its glory days of shocking moments and more soap opera oriented like the show was back in the late 1990s.
WWE is now planning on using the “who killed Mr. McMahon” storyline to draw ratings over the next several weeks. It is likely that the culprit will be revealed sometime next month, but the angle will be used to build up the buy rate of the Great American Bash pay-per-view that will take place on July 22nd in San Jose, California.
Even with the Mr. McMahon character “killed” off it is still likely he could make his return sometime in the distant future

THE REAL NINJA 08-18-2007, 12:37 AM *Goldberg vs Hollywood Hogan - WCW Nitro '98*

One of the greatest moments in WCW history
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0HGPB5OC
*Goldberg vs The Giant - WCW Title Nitro '98* NOT GOOD QUALITY

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=07XPY5NN
*WCW Cruiserweight Battle Royal and Jericho - Malenko Cruiserweight Title - Slamboree '98*
BRILLIANT introductions from Jericho, and a great, heated feud from WCW. The 'man of 1004 holds' is here for a Championship Match straight after

Just after the start of Jericho's great heel turn
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3HBHATGM

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=612YN8H0
*WCW - Rey Mysterio vs. Ultimo Dragon - World War III '96*

Been wanting to see this match for ages. HBK is so underrated as a heel. If he wouldn't have gotten injured, his run would have been one for the ages. Does anybody know if Bulldog slipping outside the ring was staged?

Apparently, Ric Flair quit WWE earlier in the week. The possible departure doesn't have anything to do with the recent drug scandal, he's simply frustrated with his push. Also, he hasn't had any encouraging communication from management.
WWE hasn't given Flair his release. WWE officials are trying hard to get him to cool off and not quit. They are having discussions to get things sorted because WWE doesn't want him to quit the company.

It would be the best thing for him to quit already, or maybe comeback like hogan does, for 1 night only things. How old is flair really? hes gotta be 60 or almost near it. Why would he even want a push? hes there to get over younger talent and try and establish them. He wants another title run or what?

$ LegenD $ 09-09-2007, 06:00 PM what exactly do u mean by bret hart ament?...is he coming back?......ive also read about king booka quitting because of his 60 day suspension.....damn shaem...is wwe going down in flames....also anyone know where i can get those old school wcw fights with luger, sting, flair, and much others without using that megaplaud stuff or rapidshare?....my computer just wont download those.....
Yaman 09-09-2007, 07:28 PM It does seem like WWE is getting ****ed. As far as Booker goes, he should just go back to Booker T for the fans and there will be no problem. I think a lot of fans rather see him quit than watching that awful King mimmick.
THE REAL NINJA 09-09-2007, 07:52 PM TNA will pick him up faster then you can say.... five time ,five time ,five time, five time WCW champion.
It's too bad that WWE has screwed him around so bad over the years because when he has a good storyline to back him, he's one of the best there is.
From the looks of it WWE will be no more within the next few years unless they pull something big real real soon.
It seems that their only hope is to get The Rock ,Big Show,Chris J who is prob going to be back soon and some of the other big stars back.
The new guys just blow, the storylines suck it's just not worth watching very often anymore.

For the last couple of weeks, the main storyline has revolved around finding out which WWE superstar is Vince McMahon’s illegitimate son. Since the beginning of the process, it was rumored that Mr. Kennedy would be revealed as McMahon’s son and usher the brash and ****y Kennedy into main event super stardom. Or so they thought.
The last few months for World Wrestling Entertainment haven’t necessarily been great and as the company was sent reeling following the Benoit tragedy, they were dealt another devastating blow, this time by the federal government’s drug probe into the online pharmaceutical, Signature Pharmacy, which revealed that eleven superstars had purchased illegal products, therefore violating the company’s wellness program. To make matters worse, Kennedy, who has vouched for the validity of the WWE Wellness Policy on various media outlets following the Benoit tragedy, was among the eleven superstars implicated.
With that, Mr. Kennedy, following his announcement that he was in fact McMahon’s son, was denounced moments later on last week’s episode of Raw. The lawyer of the mother of Vince’s illegitimate son promised that the mystery would be solved the following week and left everyone with the clue, “things are looking up.”
Now imagine, the following week on Raw, Vince McMahon with a microphone standing in the middle of the ring demanding that his mystery son come out. Following a long silence, the lights go out and the sound of the Undertaker’s trademark gong resonates through the arena, sending chills down the spines of everyone in attendance just seconds before they erupt into cheers.
But How?
On Smackdown, he's involved in a feud with Mark Henry where he's playing the psychological mind game leading up to his return at Unforgiven. Four weeks ago, following Henry's match, a druid appeared ringside, dropping sand as he walked towards the entrance ramp. The following week at the conclusion of Henry's match, a pile of sand was left at ringside.
Now, this could simply be symbolism of Henry’s time running short or it could be a countdown to Undertaker's return. Now, I know what you’re thinking. How does this relate to McMahon? I could be reading too much into the signs, but in the video montages used to taunt Henry, it shows the druids carrying the Undertaker into a desert and laying his body to rest. In the final Unforgiven promo that aired last Monday during Raw, there was a child whispering the question:
“Did you hear the one about the man that can’t be destroyed? He’s been set on fire. He was buried alive. But he keeps coming back. Did you hear that?”
The video shows the place of his burial, with his hand bursting through the ground, as if he's coming back from the dead.
"Things Are Looking Up"
The clue makes sense now, doesn’t it? If one is buried, then they must be looking up. There's a lot going against my theory, but I will attempt to rationalize. For starters, Undertaker is on Smackdown while it was expected that a Raw superstar would be revealed as McMahon's son.
1) With the recent suspensions of main event superstars on all brands and additional pressure from USA Network due to declining Raw ratings, I wouldn't put it past creative to utilize Undertaker on both shows upon his return. They would bring a big name over to Raw to help in this trying time for the company and his presence and involvement in the storyline would also mask the absence of several superstars serving their suspensions
2) The Undertaker doesn't need this storyline, but at this point, like most of his career, it’s not about what the Undertaker needs. The Dead Man has been involved in some great feuds and he’s also been involved in some terrible feuds, but he's a company man. He's viewed as a locker room leader and does what's necessary for the company to move forward.
3) There were a few people missing from the mandatory ringside meeting where Stephanie McMahon made it public that McMahon’s illegitimate son was in fact a WWE superstar. The Undertaker was among the superstars that were not in attendance.
4) There’s history between McMahon and Undertaker as the two combined their abilities and resources, during the Attitude Era, to form the Corporate Ministry in an attempt to rid the company of Stone Cold Steve Austin and reign supreme.
Undertaker involvement in this storyline would be much more suited for his Biker Taker gimmick. The character was an extension of himself, both in and out of the ring and didn’t share the same restrictions in the ring and on the microphone as the Dead Man. That doesn’t mean that Taker can’t pull it off. His return could be an evolution in his character, perhaps taking the Ministry Undertaker version of the character and expounding upon it.

WWE is truly trying anything they can as they have brought up a new Hart Foundation in which they have new superstars (I believe a few of them are in actual relations with the Hart family) but I guess he's just saying that Hart will be introducing them to the world. I am not too sure about this because Hart really never didnt want to have anything to do with the WWE ever since the Screwjob.

Could be but I don't think so .
Taker just had hip replacement and can't wrestle enough to do both shows.
There was talk that he would retire at the end of the year but now it sounds like he's going to stay for a little longer.
The other problem is Takers age .
People on the forums were saying that it could be Ric Falir but no one liked the idea because Vince and Flair are so close in age, Taker is not that far behind and everyone knows it.
Some people said it will be Val Venise because "it looking up" was his line when he first started.
Others think Khali which would work but he doesn't need the push.
I think maybe it could be Rey because he's so short and is fighting Khali right now and all the promos show him standing face to face looking up at him.

It's Davey Boy Smith's son Harry Smith
The Anvils daughter Nattie Neidhart
And one of Bret's sisters son Teddy Hart or TJ Wilson who isn't in the family but he is Nattie's boyfriend.
I hope it's Teddy because the guy is really really good at highflying stuff but he's also a total tool so wwe hasn't wanted to deal with him

Wrestling family =the show must go on...
I remember reading about it I know he was most upset with one of his sisters because she pretty much said 'oh well'.
I know he was already mad at Bulldog because he had told Brets sister that he was going to kill her and was doing all kinds of crazy stuff.
Oh then Bulldog left Bret's sister and started dating one of Bret's brothers ex wife and something went down where Brets brother shows up at Bulldog's house to fight him and Bulldog ran away.
+ Bret was already pissed that Smith didn't come to WCW with him after all that went down at the PPV.
Owen was going to go but he couldn't get out of contract and I don't think anyone cared what Anvil was doing since he was never a draw by himself anyway.
LOLORSKATES 09-10-2007, 12:57 AM Damn and I thought Bret Hart only had it difficult when it came to the Screwjob and having to be 'just one of the guys' at WCW.

I know for a fact that Big Bossman did a storyline where he made fun off Bigshow's dead dad and even hooked his dads casket to the back of his car and drove it down the street but I don't remember who did it to Hart.
Stu was still alive when Bret and HBK were going at it and I know HBK made fun of him during the show when his dad was ring side so maybe that's it.
Same thing as Orton Cena

Hart and Michaels really disliked eachother (and I am quite sure they still do) especially with that actual fight they gotten into. I never knew Hart disliked HHH either until I watched an OTR special a couple days back. I still can't help but feel sympathetic for Hart during the screwjob when he spits on Vince but then I feel great whenever reading over and over again that he popped Vince in the dressing room during the next hour. What he said to Shane and the others in there was quite worth the read as well
Orton really needs to watch his kick because it looked as if he landed wobbly after connecting with Cena's dad.
I'm surprised they haven't suspended Kennedy yet considering his name was on the list of superstars that were caught buying roids. I guess they'll make him take a big bump tonight in order for him to work off of his month?

Yeah Hart doesn't like very many ppl in wrestling at all .
I like him but sometimes he seems real stuck up about things but so do HBK & HHH and just about everyone else from that era.
Yeah it did look like it landed.
I don't know what they are going to do about all that I guess they can hand them all out at different times that way they have enough people to cover the shows.
I don't like him very much anyway but he's better then MVP I can't stand MVP.

Hart is stuck up at times but I honestly think it's just because he's turned bitter over the years from all the **** he's had to take.
MVP's only neat thing is his little entrance dance and everything else just flat out sucks about him. I really wish Benoit wasn't the one whom had to put MVP over for the US title.

Liaison 09-10-2007, 09:42 PM Hart has always been a cunt, even during his peak with those delusional claims that the WWE needed him more than he needs them (said this prior to SS 97). Hart was never a big draw in the US, but he did hold Canada and Europe (only Davey Smith and Hogan touch his popularity in Europe) which kept on top for years. His ludicrous claims during his time in Atlanta were the tip of the ice burg. Despite twice recognizing as their world champion, putting him in the ME every week and giving him 3 clear wins against their biggest draw Goldberg, he still had the nerve to say the mistreated him and never gave him a good push.
The less said about Bret, the better….

Boogieman needs to learn how to wrestle. His gimmick would be more intriguing if he could do more than eat worms and jirate around the ring like he's having a seizure.

Oh , I **** a ****ing brick when Benoit put HHH in the crossface during WM20 (which was one of the best ppv's i've ever seen).
I don't get why people are *****ing about Cena having the title for so long when HHH had it for a longer time before him.
Probably more of the gimmick and style of wrestling each possess.

He doesn't do too many moves (unless you count spitting worms, kissing girls with worms, throwing worms, feeding someone worms, and getting pounded every tuesday by Big Daddy Rolls.) but what makes a wrestler a good one?
I like the Boogeyman's in-ring ability because he's so unorthodox plus I love his attire except I dislike the fact that he got his teeth knocked out :lol1:

Yes, it's said that his numerous concussions lead to such problems as I remember reading the person inspecting his brain had stated that it was the size of an alzheimers patient.

THE REAL NINJA 12-27-2007, 07:08 PM The Brain........
As we reported a week or two ago, legendary wrestling personality Bobby "The Brain" Heenan had to have reconstructive jaw surgery following side effects from his cancer treatment. Unfortunately the first attempt didn't go as planned so he's had to endure a second operation.
Doctors hope that the second surgery will be successful and that the new bone will heal properly. Heenan is still in a medically induced coma and is expected to be brought out slowly this week. He is expected to remain hospitalized for at least another two or three weeks
