View Full Version : Michael Bisping - Can he go all the way?
MickyHatton 06-28-2006, 04:21 AM I was very impressed with his attitude and direction.
Obviously he has good all round skills but can he make it to the top?
I believe he can, he will need to tighten up and make adjustments to his ground work IMO but.....what do you think?
The Ensanity 06-28-2006, 01:01 PM I think he can go ALL th way, but I kinda disagree about the GROUND comment. I think his stand-up defense is what needs help right now.
i thought he looked phenomenal, but all things considered, he was fighting a guy who shouldn't have been at lightheavy but rather at middle.
but it takes nothing away from his skill and looks to me like he can be a force in the ufc.
Left2body 06-28-2006, 01:22 PM I think he can be very good IF he works on his ground and submissions. He would also have to work on his take down defence, similar to Chuck who doesn't have much of a ground game but is so hard to take down and keep down, therefore utilizing his standup skills.
If he had fought Matt I think Matt could've taken him down fairly easy and rode him for a victory (similar to how Josh beat Chris Libben).
legacyofbrutality 06-28-2006, 01:55 PM I agree he looks like he's got some real potential to be something great in the UFC. His stand up game is good, I liked his fight against Ross Pointon in the semifinals, it was a great fight.
The Ensanity 06-28-2006, 02:04 PM I thought his GROUND game LOOKED SOLID.
Josh is Hard as **** to sub with a rear naked. Honestly, his ground looks better than most LHWs in the UFC IMHO
1bad65 06-28-2006, 02:17 PM He's got good skills. If he works his cardio like he learned with Tito that will help a great deal. Alot more mma fights have cardio as a deciding factor vs boxing bouts. You can have the fastest car around, but if it runs out of gas you won't win any races.

I think he has what it takes..if he hones all the area's of concern he will be a force to reckon with...
My favorite was Ed..the red head...I truely believe he fears no man...you can see it in his eyes when he talks about fighting...I am not saying he is unstoppable but you better **** him up real bad to get him to give up...he is very tough....

I think it's wqy too early to say how well he'll do..
Look at leben.. Lost twice on TUF now is undefeated in the UFC..
As i said it's way to early to tell.. I thought bonnar would have been better than he is.. Maybe we'll see improvement tonight.

He was a monster with his ground and pound game. I was actually rooting for that indian looking guy when Herman fought him on TUF, I just thought herman was too ****y talking about how he'd fight Tito Ortiz at 205, but then I realized he's just the type of fighter that fears no one. Now I like him though his style grew on me the more I watched him,and I think its kool how Dana White actually gave him a contract as well as Kendall besides the fact that he lost.
unit021 06-28-2006, 04:04 PM Bisping is already a pro in the UK. he has some really great stand up skills and has decent ground game from what's been shown. asuuming he continues to evolve, he should be a great fighter in a couple of years with a possible title reign.

He's a tough son of a *****, that's for sure. I look foward to watching him fight again.
renren40 06-28-2006, 11:21 PM That dude is a cheater!!!!
I'll take Matt Hamill over Bingbing even if MAtt had an injured arm. Yes I'm biased to the American wrestlers but BINGbong cheated during training by overextending Hamil's arm cuz he knew Matt would clobber him (wisding)
1bad65 06-29-2006, 11:35 AM At this point Bisping would take Matt imo. He is too well rounded and I worry about Matt's cardio. And Bisping did not cheat at all. It's a standard armbar drill, the one trying to escape can tap ANYTIME. Refusing to tap is a good way to get YOURSELF hurt. I learned this the hard way myself.

So did Tim Sylvia. :D
1bad65 06-30-2006, 02:01 AM No kidding. I actually cringed watching that.
I tore my trapezious(sp) trying to slam out of a triangle.

he is a lil bicth and
you can tell him i said it
2swell k-wells 11-09-2006, 06:07 PM Matt Hamill is a strong dude and is now working on his cardio in big bear but Bisping would knock him out cause Matt never keeps his hands up and that would leave a opening for bisping to knock him out or down then pound him for a tko...I would love to see them fight one day...and Bisping didnt cheat, Hamill was jus too proud to tap..he shouldve tapped cause it was jus a drill, a drill that went wrong cause of Hamill's ego that he is a machine. But hamill is a good guy and fighter, but bisping would win this one...more experience and well rounded...remember matt jus started this year for mma.
