Got the phrase from Teddy Atlas on Friday night boxing.

After throwing a combination, you don't want to just stand there waiting for retaliation. You want to move out again, move to the side, close in even further, just anything to stay outta the zone.

What tips do you guys have to get out of the habit of 'taking a snapshot' after throwing a combo ? i know i sometimes am guilty

Well, your last punch should be your cleanest shot, if you set up the combination properly, which should allow you time to sidestep, fall in, or whatever you are trying to do....

I think that "taking a snapshot" is a habit that develops on the heavybag because guys like to admire their power after throwing a combination, and of course the heavybag doesn't throw back. So my tip to you is to be especially careful on your heavybag work to side step or slip after throwing a single punch or combination, as if you have an opponent in front of you.

I really think you just gotta be loose and be able to flow after your combo..
