View Full Version : Huge Suggestion
As everyone is probly aware BoxingScene.com has been offline for the entire main events in yesterday night. I suggest that when we get near 1000 users online the site prevents any new "Guest" from viewing the forum and gives members priority. It seems once this site has around 1200 members / Guest online the site goes down. When the site goes down we miss all of the round by rounds, the only reason anyone comes on at the time.
Or just make it so you have to register to view...
Thank you!
!! AI-Holmes!! 06-11-2006, 02:00 AM The site had a record 1797 viewers today during the fights, where have all these people been all this time? I welcome the idea of this site having heavy traffic and making the best boxing site on the net that it is, but we do need to regulate the site and only allow posters with more then 200 posts to be able to log on during these high peek periods.
BIGPOPPAPUMP 06-11-2006, 02:12 AM Actually the site's round by round NEVER went down. It was on a seperate server in case this one went down.
MR. V 06-11-2006, 02:25 AM yea, i seem to have the same problem where the site becomes extremely slow and has major lagging. all this occurs during the peak periods (after any main event ends).

it didnt work for me on a few occasions.
would it have been possible to offer a seperate round by round for the vips?
BIGPOPPAPUMP 06-11-2006, 02:47 AM The round by round never went down (the site's round by round), I was watching it the entire time. The reason this server went down was the round by rounds in the forum.

Correction. It did go down. I kept getting very, very slow reloads and a couple of times I had to leave for 10 minutes or so because the page wouldn't refresh. I think we need bigger severs when it comes to fight nights.
BIGPOPPAPUMP 06-11-2006, 02:29 PM The reloads were every 25-30 seconds, but as you know a round is 3 minutes and updates were every 3 mins so it may have seemed that way.
Piggu 06-11-2006, 04:58 PM The site worked just fine for me.

It might have been anything but my computor. I except that it might have been my connection to the internet but my computor is the fastest computor on the market right now. It's brand new. Over $2000 dollars for the tower alone. Not including what I had to spend on a monitor and everything else.

well probably your connection. whats your ddr ram on it?

You know what? I won't even except that it was my connection. It worked fine on every other website that I went to. It's just this one that wouldn't load up, or the RBR page. It was fine until the 3 round then took a shit until the 9 round and then took a shit until the fight was over. But I could go to other websites fine during that period.
I have no idea what the ddr is on this. What I do know is that I have a liquid cooled, dual prossesor (pentium 4s), 250 gigs of ram, and running at alomost 4 ghtz.

but sometimes it would reload to a blank page, at least in my case.
btw i gave you good karma, hit me back or ill ban you.

That's what I'm saying. I don't know what the problem was. I'll look into it more on the next fight I use the RBR.
