I think their is a real good chance of this happening if Bas comes out of retirement. Who do you think's gonna win and do you even think its gonna happen, if not why?

View Full Version : Silva Vs Bas Waylander 10-14-2002, 01:39 PM I think their is a real good chance of this happening if Bas comes out of retirement. Who do you think's gonna win and do you even think its gonna happen, if not why? Big_Papa 10-14-2002, 03:41 PM I would love to see that happen but Bas wouldn't be able to come straight out of retirement and go for the title would he? And besides there are other people in front of Bas looking for the title (Randleman). I would like to see Bas come out of retirement to fight anyone, Bas kicks ass. pål johnsen 10-14-2002, 04:14 PM bas is cool and good and all that but i dont think he can hang with silva! Purity 10-14-2002, 04:17 PM it's kinda hard to say which way this would go. i think that bas's main objective would be that he's been out of commission for so long. it would take him a while to get back into gear to go rounds w/ silva. however, i know that bas is known for having great workouts so i'm pretty sure he could do it. bas has a lot of heart too so i think that would come into play i voted for bas because i don't think silva's fury would be enough to stop him. i see silva dominating the 1st two rounds but bas would come in strong later. ref stoppage due to strikes in the 5th round is my prophesy pål johnsen 10-14-2002, 05:01 PM i sure want it to happen.. [img:fd023e399d]http://snik.insomnica.net/ptj/bas%20vs%20wanderlei.JPG[/img:fd023e399d] =) Waylander 10-14-2002, 05:15 PM ****Brake: He can fight him and it not be a title shot. Kimura 10-15-2002, 01:16 PM Bas Rutten would kick Silva's monkey ass. Big_Papa 10-15-2002, 01:19 PM STFU newbie CarnalSalvation 10-15-2002, 03:24 PM I am behind Old Man Rutten all the way. On paper Bas should own Silva. He's a better stand-up fighter, and a far, far better grappler. Bas' powerful and extremely STRAIGHT shots could be a problem for Silva. That being said though, Silva is in fact an animal and can't really be predicted. He has a shot to beat just about anybody at this point IMO. rudyray 10-15-2002, 03:35 PM maybe in his hay day bas could've took him . right now silva would tear him up . would still love to see it Waylander 10-15-2002, 03:39 PM Well the fans are always up for someone to get a royal ass whippin. deadpan_do 10-16-2002, 02:09 AM i'm for bas! Silver Wolf 10-16-2002, 02:52 AM I think Bas in his prime could beat Silva in his prime. Bas IMO is a better and smarter striker with better submissions. Right now I think Vanderlei would win. SUBKING 10-16-2002, 05:32 AM If this does ever happen and I sure hope it does, I think Bas could take silver by a big KO Fredricks 10-16-2002, 11:46 AM At every Pride PPV Bas says he wants Silva He always gives him tons of respect but he says he would LOVE to fight him The PPV where Royce commentated the match between Silva and Sak Stevie Q asked Royce if he would fight Silva and he was like uhhhh uhhhhh but Bas was like "I would love to fight him" I go with Silva just cuz he is better on the ground than Bas (Silva is a Brown belt in BJJ I think) rapture 10-16-2002, 12:32 PM Bas has been looking more and more fit at each pride. Something seems to be up with him. Nuno 10-16-2002, 03:01 PM This one is tough. I have to go with Silva on this one. Personally I don't want to see either fighter lose. academiachuteboxe 10-19-2002, 11:42 PM THere is no question. Period. Bas is awesome but he would lose. YeLLo_Ke 10-20-2002, 04:16 AM I've come to conclusion that all the newbies voted for Bas. Come on people... Bas retired and he hasn't been active. Silva is at his prime and he looks way better than Bas when he was at his prime. Silva would cut Bas's face into hamburger. |
