I was just thinking about Hip Hop today compared to hip hop in the early and mid 90's.
The question is, what do you prefer, the 90's (A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and Common) or todays Hip Hop?
And im talking about ACTUAL hip hop, not 50 cent and the ying yang twins and paul wall and all that ****.

The early 1990s were groundbreaking - production got better, new directions were made - yet it was still in the spirit of the old school hip-hop. You can't touch 1991-1996 as far as I'm concerned, when rappers weren't all rich and they had something to say...

I'm always going to like 90's hip hop over the music coming out today but there are alot nice tracks out there that I like.

I agree.
Lyrically, that era cannot be touched.
In my opinion, anyways.

I voted for early 90's, but I'm not a dude that only respects the old-school flavor or anything.
It's just that more of my favorite music came out then.
early 90's hip-hop is by far more superior to today's hip-hop

both era's are consistently coming out with good **** but in the 90s even all the commercial **** was still ****in awesome. Well, most of it.
