I found when your on a "diet" you tend to think about not eating food and by doing that your ultimately thinking about food more then you would normally. Therefore you get hungry more often, ultimately eating more. Carzy huh? But thats just me.

I'll reiterate; I eat a lot, but it's WHAT I eat that's making me more fit.

No sugar. (This includes alcohol!)
No fat.
No packaged foods.

If you just ate lean meats, raw fruit, fresh or steamed vegetables, and water, you could eat as much as you wanted and you wouldn't gain fat. It really is that simple.

It's mostly about motivation. In order to lose weight, one has to suffer some amount of starvation. Discipline and will power are required.....

about 2 months ago I did a 7 day juice fast and lost a good 6 lbs after not eating for 7 days! I would try it although drink lots of water and juice especially if your training otherwise you will feel sick all the time!

It takes self-dicipline, and self-motivation to overcome that. I'd say start by cutting out snacks, and only eating main meals.

Hey Boxer, its great to see you back on again. No doubt you will disappear for another couple of months, but how about posting up a sparring session to see how far you have come in all this time. :)

Peace.

Do you go to school? My college lets us see a nutritionist for free. Also, try to eat smaller meals more frequently and don't let yourself get too hungry or too full.

Naah, you're wrong. It's true that the quality of what you eat has an impact on your BF%. However, the real factor in weight gain/loss is the amount of calories you eat. For an example, let's say you spend 3500 calories a day. If you eat 5000 calories every day, you WILL gain weight, no matter what you eat. Likewise, if you only eat 1500 calories a day, you could basically eat nothing but ice cream and still lose weight. I wouldn't recommend it though ;)

To sum this up: Yes eating healthy will make it easier, safer and yes healthier to lose weight, but it's just one factor.
Making sure you know how many calories you eat every day, and honing in on how many you spend is a tool to control your weight loss. This way, you can KNOW how much weight you'll be able to lose each week, instead of guesswork.

Yes and no. Hardly anyone can eat 5000 calories worth of lean meat and steamed vegetables in a day. Even making 2500 calories a day on a diet like that is tough unless you're already huge.

You're right about the calories in vs. calories out equation, though. It's just easier to make it work if you cut out sugar, fat, and processed food. Way easier.

why dont you get a "pressure cooker"

just put a large chicken breast, carrot, potato, and sum water, salt and pepper. and its 0% fat.
