Kid Rock was once hip-hop. Years before Devil Without a Cause came out, he put out an album produced by Too Short and toured with D-Nice. I liked the DWAC disc, but am not a big fan of his new country sound...

Didn't like "Welcome 2 the Party" on the DWAC disc? There are a couple of his early rap songs on "The History of Rock" as well that aren't too bad. He raps very-RUNDMC; if you're looking for tricky lyrics or wordplay, he's the wrong guy.

The Beastie Boys were one of my fave groups in middle school, but I never thought much of them as far as legitimate MC's are concerned. My fave songs from them were "Whatcha Want" and "No sleep till Brooklyn."

I only heard old school Kid Rock from the Grits Sandwich album and the ICP "Carnival of Carnage" album. He sucked on all of that ****. I don't think Rock deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as Run DMC, they were exactly musical genius. Sucka MC's doesn't get the credit it deserves as one of the greatest rap songs of all time. No one even approaches Run DMC's impact on hip hop, no one.

I admit ICP is for the suburb kids who hate their teachers, but you are way off on Run DMC. They are the group that showed hip hop was not a fad, wasn;t gonna go out like disco, and was a legitimate music genre. Trimble, you're a complete idiot. As much a hip hop afficionado as you are :rolleyes: , I'd have to say you are a little misinformed. Kid Rock was making some garbage wannabe rap **** that weren't singles on his albums, and attempting to tinge his rock **** with hip hop. KoRn did a pseudo-rap song with Fred Durst called "All in the Family" on the Follow the Leader album that was pretty wack.
