The 19th is eXXecution day for Bernard Hopkins, He has stated many times after his 20th execution that the belts will mean nothing to him, Bernard hasnt done it in a while due to the war in iraq and recent decapitations (we had three this week in my town craziness). Should the Executioner come out with a special entrance and represent the henchmen and executioner mask???

A grand entrance didnt work for Spinks, with the EA curse and an entrance it may come into effect...Who knows, Just throwing a bit of superstition into the board...

But what do you all think? Would you be offended or would it be in grand fashion to do so?

I don't think it would be appropriate. My favorite entrance was the old school Tyson with no robe or socks or shirt and he just went to the ring without music or anything. That was scary!

Hagler never wore the "War" hat into the ring.

His entrance was OLD SCHOOL. The robe hood over his head, head down, hands on his trainer's shoulders.

i forget which fighter it was but it was a mexican fighter, I remember seeing this when I was way younger, he didnt have any music or shirt and ran to the ring lol no ring walk bull**** he just ran in..may have been chavez

Totally understand that but Spinks does his dancing into the ring in honor of his brother, he has said that in many interviews. It is a tribute to his brother who also taught him boxing. So I dont complain.

Undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins said today that following his January 19 title defense against Howard Eastman in Los Angeles, he plans to have two pay-per-view fights later this year. Hopkins said he's relying on "numbers man" Richard Schaefer to set up "something that I want to do as history and that's win the light heavyweight undisputed championship against a guy named Glen Johnson who's a friend of mine down here in Miami, to do what Ray Robinson couldn't do and that's to go right from middleweight and [win] the light heavyweight championship of the world." Hopkins also named Tito Trinidad and Jermain Taylor as possible foes. However, first he has to take care of Howard Eastman, whom he labeled as a "B- fighter," on February 19 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Anyone find this a bit odd of Bernard? He has never been one to talk down fighters before the fight, He is now labeling Eastman a B-Level fighter...Hell if thats the case his whole resume is built on C and D level fighters. I predicted Spinks would lose due to insufficient training and Since Bernard relocated to California, I am calling it now.

Im picking Eastman by KO, but that is just my prediction. The fight will most likely play out with Eastman pressuring Hopkins and Bernard counter punching all night, I believe Eastman will be the faster of the two though and with his strong beard and heavy punching may give Hopkins trouble. Common sense says Bernard but my heart says Eastman.

My only statement about the EA curse is this, Remember Glen Johnson was supposed to be a tune-up for tarver and was a journeyman with 9 losses and according to boxing "experts" the style he fought roy (which was the way you fight a defensive fighter) was very "childish" of him used by one commentator if I do believe. :D


Eastman might have dwindled a bit, but he is probably Bernards hardest fight to date. Sure he has some big names on his resume but a lot of those guys were smaller, Eastman is a natural middleweight who packs a punch and has a solid chin. Expect the unexpected, I feel while this will be his last defense it will be his toughest one as well.
