Also try searching, boxing technique on the internet jason100x 06-06-2006, 04:02 PM You could get a book to start you off for the technique try 'real punching' by geoff thompson. Also try searching, boxing technique on the internet Box Like The Pros by Joe Frazier has some real good tips for basic technique. There is a book called Boxing Mastery by Mark Hatmaker which has 900 photos which is useful. Also, Championship Streetfighting: Boxing As A Martial Art by Ned Beaumont, despite its title about streetfighting, has good explanations about throwing punches and footwork. It has a great appendix recommending other books to check out. yrrej 06-06-2006, 07:02 PM Check out "Chiquita" Gonzalez' info. Basically, since your name is not Ali, you can plan on getting zilch, even for title fights, should you make it that far, which will always be somewhere else if they ever come off. You can plan on fighting bigger, more experienced girls every fight. Also, you will need to spar with guys a lot, which means you will be taking a beating in training as well. Few girls maintain an interest in boxing for very long. moy22487 06-06-2006, 07:44 PM dedication. a good trainer that wont take it easy on you because your a girl. so i guess you need clint eastwood to train ya chris_cov 06-07-2006, 12:44 PM You could get a book to start you off for the technique try 'real punching' by geoff thompson. But hey, each to their own. Just go a couple of times n try it out, buy some cheap gear and if its for you, get the better stuff. rocco1252 06-07-2006, 02:11 PM hi my name is jessica and im 21. i recently started watching boxing and i think i can do it. what do i need to do and know to get started. first things first, find out exacly how far into the sport you want to go and why. after you decide this you can decide what type of training and trainer you need and can start looking for the gym for you. next make sure your dedicated and ready to run every day and work out by yourself on your gym off days especially if you want to be serious. And of course you can do it if you put your mind to it and are dedicated enough, it just takes alot of work and dont get frustrated when it doesnt come to you right away in due time it will almost be natural. vBulletin® v3.7.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
