View Full Version : How should B-Hop end his career?
borikua 02-09-2005, 06:18 PM As we all know, Nard has only a few fights b4 he retires...
Who should he fight after the Eastman fight?
Stay in middle or move up/down in weight?
elveiel 02-09-2005, 06:26 PM Move up and face Calzaghe, i think Hopkins is in the comfort zone and need a test against a tough bigger man.
QueenCity 02-09-2005, 06:29 PM To end his carrer he should get one last big payday, I say he should take on the Trinidad/Wright winner.
borikua 02-09-2005, 06:32 PM IMO he should fight the winner of Winky-Tito and then if he wins he should fight Taylor or go up against Calzaghe or Lacy...
The Fix 02-09-2005, 07:11 PM he should end his career against jermain taylor. win or lose he is out
AintGottaClue 02-09-2005, 07:54 PM sturm deserves a shot way more then taylor lmao but seriously Bhop will fight the winner of tito/wright then retire but i think eastman is gonna beat him anyway so i dont care i know for damn sure taylor or sturm isnt gonna get a shot
straightjab65 02-09-2005, 07:54 PM he should end his career against jermain taylor. win or lose he is out
I completely agree with you. I think that Taylor is the next middleweight chance and what better way to pass the crown than a fight between old and new. I don't think taylor will win but it will give him experience and after that he can fight for the title against who ever he has to
oldgringo 02-09-2005, 07:59 PM I think the way most people would want him to go out is to either fight the winner of the Wright/Trinidad fight or take on Jermain Taylor.
Taking on Lacy would be a stupid move...not because he wouldn't school him or anything but just because Lacy doesn't do anything for him. Calzaghe would be a little better but it still wouldn't give him that limelight he wants. I think ending Trinidads career would be the best way for him to go out.
joeboxer 02-09-2005, 08:00 PM If Glen Johnson wins again against Tarver than he should move up and beat up Glen again.
+= El Jefe=+ 02-09-2005, 08:02 PM yeah if he ends his career right now
he would be one of the few boxers to
end his carrer on the top,
unlike some of the greats who waited
until they where too old (Ali, Tyson, Chavez, Holyfield, etc.)
i mean who else besides Marciano and Finito Lopez retired at the top?

lennox lewis retired on top, a lot of fighters retire on top and bernard will prolly do that. Bernard cant go out with the likes of marciano and lopez because they were undefeated and bernard has two loses.
joeboxer 02-09-2005, 08:35 PM Going out on top is over-rated. What does it really do. Do you like Lennox Lewis more because he went out on top, NO. Would you place him higher in the all time lists, NO. What it does do is ruin a division for years as people struggle to determine who the real champion is. I think he should move up in weight and actually risk something, if he loses he will still be the greatest middleweight we have since Marvin Hagler.
xrhythmxnxbluesx 02-09-2005, 09:32 PM fight sturm and taylor... and whoever wins against tito and winky... win all those fights... i'll call him the best middleweight ever....
Mr. Violence 02-09-2005, 09:46 PM he should fight Jermaine Taylor and then retire.
IwatchBoxing 02-09-2005, 09:50 PM Better question, how should Trinidad end Hopkins career, with a hook, or a uppercut? :D
Truth 02-09-2005, 09:57 PM To end his carrer he should get one last big payday, I say he should take on the Trinidad/Wright winner.
I agree think a rematch with Tito is the best option to end his career.
joeboxer 02-09-2005, 10:18 PM Better question, how should Trinidad end Hopkins career, with a hook, or a uppercut? :D
Wow, big Trinidad fan.
He didn't exactly mess up Hopkins that bad last time.
kadyo 02-09-2005, 10:25 PM Move up and fight Johnson or Tarver. Have a rematch with RJJ. Bottom line is move up. No use in fighting undersized middleweights!!! Well, on the second thought the money is in the middleweight.
IwatchBoxing 02-09-2005, 10:28 PM Wow, big Trinidad fan.
He didn't exactly mess up Hopkins that bad last time.True, but what goes around, comes around (I think), he will be a big underdog in the rematch, I belive Trinidad would pull the huge upset, even tho he never had a rematch before, and pass that test too. Look at my profile, to see what he said about fighting Hopkins, after Winky.
Knicksman20 02-09-2005, 10:41 PM I think he should have 2 more fights. I hope he KO's Tito again & fight either Tarver or Johnson from the winner of that fight. Fighting Taylor would be pointless. He'd ruin Taylor & lay bad beating on him. There's no way Taylor could be ready for Bhops this year no matter how many fights he'd have this year. Calzaghe is a joke, he's managed to duck just about every threat to him.

Yeah Tinidad did mess Hopkins bad last time,
trinidad's face was hitting hopkins hands real hard
i heard Hopkins knucles hurt badly for several days :D
rokness 02-09-2005, 10:59 PM left hook at don king's head
Boxhead2012 02-10-2005, 03:22 AM Hopkins should definatley stay in the same division and go after the winner of Wright/Trinidad. Both are legitimate pound for pound contenders and Hopkins shouldn't have a problem with either of them. He should stay away from Taylor, however. That would be way too risky for him at this stage of his career.
hitterwitter 02-10-2005, 04:55 AM His career will be over after Feb 19th by Eastman.
Eatman will win by ko 8.
We should be talking about who Eastman will fight next.
TheFairPole 02-10-2005, 05:03 AM With a TKO loss to Taylor!!! ;)
Counter Puncher 02-10-2005, 05:44 AM By proving that he can beat the revitalized Trinidad twice. This regardless of whether Felix wins over Wright or not (though I think he can beat Wright by KO). If he does, then he will go as a legend.
Chadmack 02-10-2005, 05:57 AM IMO BHop should demolish Eastman, Trinidad and teach Taylor a lesson, a TKO would be nice also. Then retire.
DR. FREECLOUD 02-10-2005, 09:18 AM i personally would like to see b-hop destroy rjj in his last fight. but then again that would be pointless cause jones has already proved that he was never really as good as everyone thought. tito on hte other hand still needs to prove that he is the beast so that fight would prolly be the better fight. i gotta hand it to b-hop...he has really impressed me. even though he fought alot of smaller guys.

How should B Hopkins end his career? Personally, I hope its on his back. Nothing against his boxing ability (which is superb), but he annoys the ever living hell out of me. Seeing him get pole-axed would be pretty cool.
boxernyc 02-10-2005, 09:54 AM He should fight Pacquiao. I think Pacquiao could take him. No one can handle pacquiao's strength. NO ONE!!!!
Or he could rematch with Tito. It would be his biggest available payday unless Wright destroys Tito (not likely IMO). Even if Tito losses it would still be a bigger fight than Hopkins - Wright. Plus Tito is a take all comers type fighter so he will most likely take the fight. And Bernard would definitely not mind, why would he? The only X-factor is will the Don put Tito in with him, thinking that Bernard will steamroll him again?
Tha Greatest 02-10-2005, 09:54 AM beat the **** out of Eastman and show that he's still the Executioner, who the hell is this eastman guy, he's a ****in "BUM", who has he actually beat. He couldnt beat Joppy, this guy is gonna get a beating.
then he should fight Trinidad, and Taylor
DiegoFuego 02-10-2005, 10:21 AM Take on Tito again and Taylor. Hopkins will win both, and if he loses, it's because he got old.
