Thankyou mr. sandman 05-29-2006, 07:31 AM practice, practice, practice. also you probs already know but step forward with your left when you jab, it puts your weight well into it. that's assuming you're not a southpaw.... platinummatt 05-29-2006, 08:04 AM ok thankyou but when ever I twist at the hips my shoulders done really so should they? and If i try and twist the whole body its so slow machotime 05-29-2006, 10:18 AM It should appear as a chain reaction, starting with your foot pivoting, then your hips, then your upper body. Your arm is just an extension of your body, don't punch with your arm, but use your arm to transmit the power that your body generates. Practice it in the mirror, as you shadow box. Try it slow, then gradually do it with more speed and power. Once you have become comfortable with the methodology, try it on a bag, and icorporate it in your shadow boxing combinations. platinummatt 05-29-2006, 10:27 AM thanks man Ukr_Alex 05-29-2006, 01:40 PM what machotime said. Use your body as a spring. Wind up starting from your feet through to your arms. Bend and twist your knees to the right, do the same with your upper body, or rather let your body follow your hip position. Then extend your legs, and twist to the left, use your hips to twist your body...all that momentum should go into your arm. That way you have forces coming on both axis yielding big power. vBulletin® v3.7.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
