http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=NYGDevils32

I just got this heavy bag a month ago, and this summer, I plan to go to a gym and learn how to box.

Please watch them and tell me if you think I am ready to go to a gym or not.

Its all about heart kid, if you really want it and you will sacrifice what you have to to get it then you can do anything.

However, I would maybe get that footage off of the net, it is rather horrible to say the least. But save it. Because if you go to the gym and learn the trade you can come back and look at these videos and know exactly what I was talking about aswell as how much youve grown as a boxer.

Where there is a will there is a way!!!

Thanks, Rockin. I agree, if I do start to box and learn how to do everything right, I will probably look back at those vodeos and laugh at them.

Did you ever or do you box, Rockin?

If you dont straigthen out your wrists your going to break them once you hit something. You will fight how you practice to fight. Practice does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.

So I should punch exactly straight into the bag? Kind of curved will break my wrists?

Oh boy, are you serious?

Dude, I dont want to put you on a downer for the rest of the day but you need to learn how to box quick. The only thing im gonna give you credit for was your stance, which was semi-right and the best part about your video's. But you posted these video's for criticism right?

You were tired easy, your punches had poor technique, your balance was horrendous, my nan saw your hooks coming, your chin was out to dry, you hugged the bag and then rabbit punched it, you stood square on, you took your shirt off for no apparent reason, your shots were slow, your shots were bent, your elbows were up, you moved your head wrong when throwing the shots, you didnt transfer your weight through the shot, you didnt defend your face with the alternate hand when throwing with the other, you didnt look at the bag, you moved around it wrong/not enough.

Peace.

I only watched maybe the firt 20 seconds of your clip. Every time you throw your shots your wrists are titled towards the ground. Its going to cause you some pain in the future once you get sparring.

When I bust into a bag my wrists are just about perfectly straight and firm, yes.

dude, you punch like a retard. All it takes is a step back with left uppercut and your flat on the ground you punching too wild you definately need to get some lessons fighting like that is going to cost you in the future

Well, he looks well conditioned and fairly fast, but he's got a lot of bad habits too.

I don't like the way he tip toes around when punching, and the beginning when he punches going backwards, his feet become lined up. Not good. His feet and hands go out of sync sometimes, as if he has no rythm.
Also, he needs to learn how to throw his straight left, just that; straight. His elbows all up in the air, taking some of the power and speed out of it, and that also means he's using more energy throwing it like that. His hooks aren't clean punches either.

yup, and as i noticed right away the as he shadow boxed his wrist were all wack, but im not sure if he punchs the bag like that, if he does good thing he's using a light bag. but i think hes just hitting the bag for a work-out not as...a boxers work out on the heavy bag. but he was a bit robotic too. but he defently has practiced more then then guy in the other video. practice and form is all

Go train properly. That was. I laughed out loud. I mean, i assume you watch boxing, so you should at least have some semblance of nice punches just from watching... apparently not.

Oh well, don't be discouraged, go to the gym and get your technique down. You seem to have good handspeed.

Oh, and don'r ever throw that wild punch that you threw - was it a loooooping left hook? I think so. Don't throw that, EVER. Someone will see that, and either shoot out their short left and KO you, or they'll duck under your punch and ko you with a right.

MAn that was poor. My little brother can box better than that and he's 9. Ure stance was ok, but you need to straighten out your arms. Breathe out when you punch, no wonder you got tired so quickly, you where holding your breath whilst punching. Move around the bag while punching and dont just throw punches for the sake of it, hit the bag when it is moving away from you, go up close and land flurrys etc. But the most important thing is keep your bloody guard up. You woulda been down in the first round in sparring.

Sorry if its harsh but its true

The only thing you need to do is get your ass in a gym. You won't ever get the basics down on your own, trust me.

That video was horrible. You're doing it all wrong, and the longer you go on, the harder it's going to be for a trainer to correct you, because you'll be set in your ways. Do yourself a favor, leave that bag alone and go to a gym!

Edit: Nobody at the gym is going to expect you to have the basics down, when you show up there, so don't worry about that.
You should realize that you're nowhere NEAR having the basics down. A coach is gonna think you're a fool if you show up the first day, thinking you have the basics down! THAT'S what you should be worried about.

How much experience do you have? Not much I gather. Therefore you should listen to people with more experience than you. That is how you learn, not by thinking you know it all, when you haven't even had ONE fight. You CAN pick up a few things by yourself, by with every one thing you pick up, you'll get 10 bad habits that will take months for a trainer to correct.

And guess what? Mystyal's got a long way to go too. Maybe there's a reason his trainer's not getting him any fights yet? ;)

Your guard is very high in one video, its leaving your body open to alot of shots! If you want to learn a bit more of boxing before you get to the gym try looking some stuff up on the internet or get a book. A good book is 'real punching' by geoff thompson. Good luck

I will say you have improved much from your first couple of clips. All you have to do is watch some fights and youll atleast get an idea of how to punch. Unless your watching Mayorga fights there is no reason you should have picked up on punching like that.

Thank you. You are one of the first positive ones, haha.
