what's your opinion on shadow boxing with the gloves i have. 18 oz.

will it help arm muscular endurance?
my goal is just to have longer lasting arms in 5 round aggressive sparring against my friends who have the average man's endurance.
when we spar, we use 12 oz. everlast official amateur gloves. which are much lighter than my 18oz training gloves.

What kind of sparring are you doing wth your friends? Do you use headgear and mouthpieces? You need to spar with 16 oz gloves, not small 12's.
But yes, 18 oz are good for shadowboxing.

if the 12oz amateur gloves are too dangerous, im thinking of getting 2 pairs of the 16oz. sparring gloves. the same one as my 18oz.
the "sparring" that we do, we try to simulate amateur boxing. 4 rounds, 2 minute rounds. we only do this once every 2 weeks.

That's perfect and good to go. Good choice.

ye heavy gloves would be better for the endurance, getting used to having heavy arms for when you fight. It may also improve your jabs because your arms are weighted.

when i train power training i use 16 oz.gloves beacuse, about 2 weeks before the fight i train with 10.oz so my hands are faster and help me with my endurance. but remember heavier is not nessesery beter.
