In his second title shot he decked Larry Holmes with a huge punch but was later KO'd by Holmes in the 11th. A dominant contender and a dangerous opponent for anyone.

Wladimir is taller, quicker, and has better skill. Shavers can hit a ton but can't really take it so I think Wlad blows him out early with superior size, skill, and athleticism. I wouldn't count a Shavers KO out because it would only take one punch, but I see the taller, rangier Wlad scoring first and hurting the chinny Shavers with straight punching and the left hook if Shavers makes it inside.

i agree ,shavers is ko or nothing in this fight ,Wlad hits hard but not close to as hard as shavers did....most probable outcomes 1.Wlad by D, 2. wlad ko late in fight, 3. Shavers BIG ko mid rounds after he finds his reach,

Never know what would happen in such a fight, both with questionable chins... both with the power to put eachothers lights out. Shavers would press the action, if he lands with that looping right Wlad will go... vice versa also.

I agree. Shavers is always one punch away from victory in this one but overall i feel Klit is better in every other department apart from power.

Quarry was FAR from a light puncher. The guy could really rip to the head and body. But it's true, Shavers's wasn't even half as durable as Peters.

This would be a very easy fight for Wladimir. Earnie Shavers was about as much a one trick pony as they come. He didn't have a solid beard, was a defensive mess, had some horrible stamina, was a bleeder, and wasn't the strongest man mentally. Wladimir would land a solid right hand early and Shavers would start looking for excuses from there. But if Shavers even touched him with a right hand, hes ****ed.

On paper Wlad should win... he's also the bigger, stronger more skilled man. Earnie shavers is just so dangerous and thus im hesistant to give the nod to Wlad on this one. Earnie was fierce, he would press the action and if that looping right hand connects im pretty certain Wlad would be out for the count... Larry Holmes was a much more skilled boxer then Wlad and even he was caught with the looping right, if that was Wlad he would be leaving on a stretcher.

Give the edge to Wlad but its still an intreiguing matchup. An EASY WIN is an exaggeration.
