my normal shoe size is 12. it was a bad idea to run in those shoes, because they aren't running shoes, they are Vans.

so i ordered new balance 890, 12.5, with 2E (Wide).

i just ran in them, but the top of my ankles dont hurt anymore, but my sides still do.

like in this picture:

do i need to go up another size by .5, or add "4E" (extra wide).
btw, i can see the sides of my feet pushing through the sides of my shoe, like it's kinda tight.

what do u mean the sides of your feet are pushing out

do you have any space in the shoe?

like there's no space on the sides. but there's alot of space on the top/bottom.

it's too tight on the sides

when you ran in the vans you prob gave yourself shin splints

and hurt foot a bit

getting running shoes was a good step, but ordering them? i dunno i just prefer to try them on

each shoe fits diff really

how long have you been running?

if not long- ease into it

especially if you are on concrete and body is not used to that impact- then there comes the shin splints

you can find some good stretches for shin splints though

personally i'd work thru them - the pain will go away after a couple min of running then return afterwords

just don't over do it and cause damage

sounds like you got a wide foot

in my experience wiht shoes nike seems to fit narrow

but addidas fit wide and thats what i need as well

not to sure on new balance
- i know they are good shoes

i'd get the wider ones

got to be comfortable in the feet man

last time i ran in vans was 2 weeks ago. just started today in the new balance. they are real comfy but then the side pain kicks in later.

oh, like 2 months. 2 miles when i wake up, 1 mile before dinner. it was only last week i decided (ive had enough of this pain). then i got these new balance shoes... im glad the pronation pain is gone, but the sides are still the same in pain.

well if your training to fight and your foundation is good you can move on to interval training

imo aerobic jogging is great for a foundation

but anaerobic speed work is needed for the intensity of boxing

Do you have flat feet mate? Probably not... but I had exactly the same problem, until I got orthotix.

It right i have flat foot you have to go to a doctor and he will customs a fill in to put it on you shoe you have to wear it for 12 hours per day.

Try running on sand or soft ground instead for now.

How old are you if your 20 you problem cant be solved but if younger you could solve the problem once in for all.

you are flatfooted but not that much because there some people do not have an arch like me.

I dont know if it will be permeant like that or could be correct but i could say to you your a bit late so you may wear this insert for 12 hr rest of you life. but its better to check a doctor

This is the same guy who told us that his side hurt when running. Then keenly drops in that he has scoliosis. A back disorder or something. Eventually I said if you have scoliosis then what in the hell are you out doing running. So now he has scoliosis, flat feet and whatever else.

Dude, go to a specialist and let him take care of you. You need alot more then words to cure your ailments. Most likely a phsyciatrist could help you abit too. This dude doesnt need the Boxing Scene Training site, he needs web M.D!!!!!

When I was younger one day I just coulden't walk anymore, the pain in my feet was so intense. I went to the doctor and he gave me an order to get custom insols for my shoes, pain went away. So my best advice is not to try to fix it yourself, but go to a foot doctor just in case. My problem was that my bone was actually not growing right, and the insole fixed it.

i think i solved the problem(s).

i drink some water and wait 45 minutes then run. i was able to jog 1.5 miles without slowing down. no pain in sides, i just did what you guys said, to take those deep breaths until my stomach went out, and the other way around.

and the foot-pain on the sides, i just got went up a size by .5 with 4E (xtra wide) and now everything's fine.

thanks all.
