Who wins this war? :boxing: I might have to go with Hagler by UD but the Bronx Bull always has a chance.

View Full Version : Jake LaMotta vs. Marvin Hagler Brockton Lip 05-20-2006, 11:39 AM Who wins this war? :boxing: I might have to go with Hagler by UD but the Bronx Bull always has a chance. hugh grant 05-20-2006, 12:23 PM So hard. Lamotta beat SRR so why not Hagler.? Southpaw Stinger 05-20-2006, 12:23 PM Hagler by decision. But the important thing is that Jake won't go down - and Hagler will have painfull knuckles by the end after pounding Lamotta's stone chin for 15 rounds! Yaman 05-20-2006, 01:03 PM Thats a great signature SP. I'd also favor Hagler by UD, there aren't many(I'd say there aren't any) fighters who could've stopped Hagler. And he was the better boxer. tommyhearns804 05-25-2006, 11:13 PM Sugar Ray Robinson wasn't a natural middleweight and the man didnt have as good as a chin as Hagler.Sugar Ray Robinson padded whole career back ducking most of the top black fighters who challenged him. Lamotta couldn't punch or do anything to worry Hagler.Hagler walks thru anything Lamotta does and stops him in the mid rounds. I think that would worry hagler. Brockton Lip 05-26-2006, 12:25 AM Thats true. Now that I think more on it, LaMotta was a large middleweight and many say he was a heavyweight trapped in a middleweight's body. Jake has a very good chance. Kid Achilles 05-26-2006, 08:47 AM LaMotta was a heavy puncher, just watch the films. You can clearly see him hurting his opponents to the head and body but he lacked the snap and special timing needed to be a good knockout puncher. He was certainly not feather fisted or even a light puncher. If he fought in today's relatively weak middleweight division, his KO percentage would be significantly higher. Southpaw Stinger 05-26-2006, 09:47 AM Oh my, Yaman's been banned! M26 05-26-2006, 12:52 PM Jake LaMotta would crowd Marvelous Marvin Hagler and be on him the whole night through. This would help Hagler win in my opinion. He was a great counter-puncher, and he liked his foes to come at him. LaMotta would be countered and outboxed to lose by wide decision. This fight would be a brutal war, and it would probably go the distance. Marvelous Marvin Hagler by UD. Keleneki 05-27-2006, 11:39 AM Wow, what a great fantasy fight. I think the Marvelous one would win a UD, although I suspect there is a great chance that both would be bleeding quite profusely at the end of their matchup. :) vBulletin® v3.7.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
