keep your hands closer to your body and ur gloves up by ur temple when your in a defensive stance and when someone throws a body punch lean to the side of the punch this will make ur elbow shift down and block the punch

For getting hit in the gut, I lay down and drop the medicine ball and hit myself with it in my stomach. Or get get a partner and throw it at eachother's stomach from like 5 feet away or so. Just breath out quick, like your throwing a punch, to brace yourself for the hit.

If you think getting hit by your won gloves is bad, try dropping them.....

For taking body shots u need to do sit ups, matt exercises and get a partner to drop and hit u with a medicine ball. U just need to keep sparring and eventually the body shots wont bother u as much. If ur gloves keep hitting ya face, then tell ya trainer and he will show u how to parry/moveaway from certain shots instead of taking them on the gloves all the time.
