ok, so i know that there is already a weight contest on here but i want to start a mock training camp. heres how it works. choose a weight division to make in six weeks and try to get yourself into the best condition possible by the deadline. i started mine today so i should be at 140 in six weeks and in excellent condition. if anyone else wants to join in let me know. i think this would be a good way to have some fun and support eachother in getting into great shape.

blockhead) are you going to be lifting weights in your training any or just do bodyweight exercises along with hitting the bag and cardio. bcause i think im just going to do bodyweight along with the bag and just drop the weights from now on.

Alright, I'll try and get a pic up for this week, and then one at the end. Basically I'm going to prolong my jogging session, lighten up on the weights and eat wayyy better.

cool, i am glad that you guys are interested, i think everyone should chose a workout that they are comfortable with along with a diet that fits. and remember that there is no compeitition we are all here to work together. it should be fun and the more people that get involved the more fun it can be.
so far i am working on diet and cadio. and then i am going add a lot of ab work over the next couple of days.
good luck to everyone and if you want to post your week of training in your sig so we can see one another and keep track of progress.
peace and good luck.

I'm might go in too i need to decide on a good target weight thats achievable in 6 weeks, i also need to wait for a thumb injury to heal. I should be healed by mid-late this week depending on how it is when i get the bandage off. so i may be down half a week to a whole week

I'll still go in with you on it

Can I ask some of the exercises people are doing and how much
Running, lifting, etc

Post more later :boxing:

Your spending more time running and walking than you are boxing, do you recommend this?

im just gettin rid of the extra weight, how often do you suggest in the boxing gym? and really sprints take about 10 min and 2 mile jog takes about 17 min and the walk is somthing i do at night in my spare time....and if you say 3 hours a day boxing your full of ****....

3 hours of boxing per day is not possible? Have you ever heard of two-a-days. My workouts generally lasted 2 -2 1/2 hours.

Ya know, you guys arent learning to box, its cool man. I was out of line.

I think this thread was more for encouraging to lose weight for boxing

Although punching is one of the best excercises because it uses most of your muscles

UPDATE:

I'm down to 183 from 188 after the first week. Not bad, I need to keep a steady diet I think or it might bounce up and down in the 180's, but I am 183 as of today and I've been doing much needed core training.
