Yeah I thought 4 sure Spinks was gonna win the rematch. Oh well. I won't lose any sleep over it. Congrats
DiegoFuego 02-06-2005, 12:36 AM Judah is the man any way you cut it. You cannot beat a focused Zab Judah, he has too much talent, too much raw talent.

Ah yes, the sweet taste of victory and the even sweetier taste of rubbing it in the faces of the disbelivers.
I'm happy as well!
marvdave 02-06-2005, 01:48 AM damn, I hate when he's right
vB Martin 02-06-2005, 02:11 AM I am not a fan of Judah at all. To me he's one of the fighters who is epitomizes everything that's wrong with boxing. Self-centered, egotistical, childish. His duckwalk will always be one of the funniest moments in boxing, and his throwing the stool at Jay Nady right up there with Tyson's ear biting in the most disgusting moments.
I had him losing until the 7th rd, when he evened it up on my cards.
In the 9th round he showed that he may finally be maturing when he had Spinks out on his feet, backed up and looked to the ref to stop the contest.
Props to Judah. He definitely earned it.
vB Martin 02-06-2005, 02:14 AM I'm a time delay here in Hawaii, so I posted the above prior to hearing the post fight interview. I was glad that I was right. Judah confirmed in the interview that he wanted the fight stopped. Again, props.

it was just his time to *****...

I hear you, I always knew Zab had it in him to win a big fight and be a big time fighter.
spinksjinx 02-06-2005, 09:09 AM Judah is the man any way you cut it. You cannot beat a focused Zab Judah, he has too much talent, too much raw talent.
Judah was focused against Tszyu and looked good in the first round and somewhat in the second and then the man just got over powered.
theironone 02-06-2005, 09:25 AM exactly, just watched it again, and zoo adjusted straight away in the 2nd and got numerous shots off, controlled the round then put the big one one, judah was all over the place, however, he is capable of winning a re-match, if only his chin was better i'd rate him much more, good skills, good movement, great handspeed, powerful hitter, but mentally lapses and is weak chinned, and i truly believe those two faults will almost certainely let him down several more times in his career
PacKillsMorales 02-06-2005, 09:31 AM id only seen his fight with tsyzu and i already could
see he had crazy punching power and technique.
he looks so young though.
ive seen a few more of his fights since including
the 11rds to 1 massacre of mickey ward.
so what weight is Gatti at.
could a gatti-judah bout be made .. prolly not i spose
ok more seriously.
Mosley-Judah Dlh-Spinks or Dlh-judah and Mosley-spinks
winners face each other.

Good thread, I dont think Zab could ever beat Tszyu. Tszyu walks through peoples punches and takes his time sooner or later Zab will get tired or bored and lose that mental focus you speak of and let his concentration down a bit and that is when Tszyu will execute his punches to Judah.
I dont give zab a chance against a boxer who moves but if he gets a guy to slow down or stand their then Zab gets the upperhand....
Zab wont keep his focus for to long.
Gatti is at 140 and would get murdered by Zab.

sorry..i still aint sure what weights are which.
so gatti is above or below judah in weight categories

Gatti is at 140 and Judah is at 147.
Judah can make 140 easily and could easily go down if chose to.

...Yeah, hats off to Judah even though I can't stand him I still predicted he would win via KO. He does seem to be maturing quite a bit. He shouldn't be thinking about a rematch with Zoo though. In that fight he is physically overmatched and would getted his brains scrambled again IMO.
Slipx 02-06-2005, 09:55 AM his throwing the stool at Jay Nady right up there with Tyson's ear biting in the most disgusting moments.
Jay Nady screwed Zab, it wasn't like he did it because he got counted out. The time from when he went down the first time to when he jumped up and Nady called it was like three seconds. He didn't even give him an 8 count. As good as a referee as Nady is, he unfairly screwed Zab by doing that, and I think Nady deserved more than a stool thrown at him..
as far as comparing that to Tyson, man, those are two different ballparks
tyson bit the ear because he knew he was getting beat, and rather come back in the fight he just vented his frustration onto his ear like a little confused boy. Zab rightfully retaliated for getting robbed.
I am not a Judah fan by the way, although what he did last night looked good.
theironone 02-06-2005, 10:07 AM watch his legs, Nady did Zab a favour he would of gone out in the third clean, and a pro should never try to put their hands on an official, Judah got what he deserved for being a immature little boy that night

Exactly, Jirov made the same mistake agaisnt Moorer. When he got knocked down he got right back up and tried to gain his composure back but couldnt. Zab should have took a knee and then got up instead of acting like a fool.

Exactly, Judah screwed himself by jumping to his feet and doing that silly dance.
I would have stopped it if i were the ref.
AintGottaClue 02-06-2005, 12:18 PM im srry im srry im srry i picked spinks plz forgive i beg of u :(
SonnyG8R 02-07-2005, 01:38 AM I don't like Zab, and this fight didn't change that. He's not the first punk to win a title and he wont be the last.

I THOUGHT THIS HAD BEEN SETTLED
if a boxer stands up and falls down again the ref must
stop the fight. thats the official verdict.
now im not sure but i reckon ive seen fights where
a guy takes two attempts to get up so maybe its down
to the refs discretion.
anyway its judahs fault for one simple reason.
you get tagged, get tagged again and go down.
you do NOT then jump straight up. simple
he did.he wasnt ready (would you have been?)
and he paid the price.
lennox lewis was stopped on less against oliver mccall.
his legs wobbled. judahs took him in a circle onto his
face. theres no controversy here other than nady getting
s**t for doing his job professionally. he IS looking out
for the fighters .
thats it for me...case closed
AIR_KENG 02-07-2005, 05:04 AM he sure looked better in the rematch and dominated it... one-apiece... anybody for a part three?
jack_the_rippuh 02-07-2005, 09:25 AM I hear you, I always knew Zab had it in him to win a big fight and be a big time fighter.
It was a must. If he loss again, he would have been a journeyman.

You really are an idiot, aren't you. I was a big Judah fan until I started seeing him almost intentionally throwing fights with Spinks and Pineda, among others. I was impressed with the composed and focused Judah that ko'ed Spinks. While I have said alot of things about Judah, they don't compare to the things I have said all along about Spinks. Do your research, Tyson sucks.
