It's a sad, sad day today, as it is every time one of the great champions of the past leaves us.

Patterson was a true class act and even if he wasn't the best fighter to ever hold the mantle of World Heavyweight Champion, he carried the honor with far more dignity than the bulk of the men to achieve that pinacle.

Rest In Peace, Champ....and thanks for the memories.

I don't know what to say. Its just sad. I loved the way he fought and i'll never forget his bout against Archie Moore. A true warrior and champion.

RIP Floyd Patterson.

he was great and he possibly could have been considered greater if marciano had one more fight. i always thought patterson had a good chance of beating marciano had they fought in 1956.
