after seeing ppl post their own heavy bag vids, i thought i might add dis clip of me hitting my 200lb bag. And for those who think the bag is 2 small for a 200lb bag, it was only a 132lbs when i bought it but i added some sand to make it 200lbs. i didnt make this video for this site so im not acturally boxing around the bag, im just throwing left hooks to get them better.
ENJOY.. By the way, im 17yrs old, 150lbs and 5ft 11"

In as much as you are standing in the same spot throwing the same punch over and over, it's a good thing the bag can't hit back....

what kind of bag is that and where did you get it?

What is there to rnjoy. You throw the same punch over and over again and you don't even seem to execute it well. If you were to fight like that at amteur level it would be safe to say youd be the holder of a losing record

in reply to heckler_pickle and yrrej. you guys must be real idiots to believe that i wud throw left hooks over and over again in a real match, srsly, grow a ****ing brain. i told u in my first post that i didnt make dis clip to show on dis forum, i just made it for myself to look at my technique, thats why i was throwing the same punch, to get it better. so how about u start thinking b4 posting next time.

Working the heavy bag is a trained skill or art if you would. Its obvious that Pug-Z has never been formaly trained. Yet he still posts up wanting to share. For that I give him credit. He never said that he was a world beater or that he would ko champion after champion. He said, hey man this is me on the bag, check it out. Keep working Pug-Z, youll get it down.

Tips on the bag. Work around a bag the same that you would an opponent. When you throw, let your hands go in multiple combinations, changing combos each time you throw. Left hooks to the body have power, but a good jab you will find is bread and butter. Then go in with the bombs after working the jabs.

A for effort, atleast he tries and shares with the forum. Good man Pug-Z!

It's obvious he's trying to work the power and endurance of his left hook. Traditional work on the heavy bag, with head and foot movement, is and important part of training but there's something to be said for the strength and endurance benefits for hitting a bag with the same punch over and over again. George Foreman trained like this a lot.

As long as this isn't the only kind of training you do on the heavybag, I don't see a problem with it.

why do u only use the left hook? I understand ur trying to study ur technique, but it seems kinda dumb to only study the left hook.

what about the jab cross, and combos? What r those looking like?

From watching the vid, it looks like ur left hand is kinda low most of the time. When u throw ur hook or double hook u dont bring it back to cover up from a possible counter.

Might wanna work on that if ur practicing technique.

Thats a bad body shot to throw,u should work on hooks w/ the other hand.

your stance is all off - you are too squared up, video is not to clear but you don't hold your right hand near enough to your chin and you do NOT want to drop your left hook after you finish punching, put it back by your chin once you are done punching and end it with a jab or another left hook and step out of harms way, dont stay in front of the bag once you are done puncing and don't drop your hands

and i read the post, just to make it clear.....but with out correting your technique to throw a left hook with balance to punch again....then what you end up with is bad technique, so even if you are only practicing your left hook make sure you deliver it right and i said to jab or left hook and jump out of harms way cause again you want to be able to throw correctly and make sure you are not in harms way and ready to counter punch as quick and as effectivly as possable.

now u see how i feel when i tell them something in a post and they go right over what i said. or your doing what they say u need to work on. by the way good left hooks. always good to hear the "thud" on the impact. tells u alittle about how good your power is and your's is good

i aggree, but just cause you don't hear the thud doesn't mean its not as effective, is my opinion, your coach knows what he is talking about

yea bro, i know what you mean, the first 5 guys who posted didnt read one word of wat i wrote and started sayin if i did dat in a fight i wud lose, srsly, who the ****s gona stand next to an opponent and throw 20 left hooks in a row? That means Foreman shud be a bum coz i have his clip of him hitting the bag and his hands are way down to his waist and hes full loading up on only right and left hooks. but ye, thanx for reading it, atleast you know how it feels

Pug, comparing you on the bag to Bruce Lee, I say you have way more power and if you put more combos in you'd display more skill as well!

200lber hell no.ahahaha what type of things did u use to put the bag on your ceiling with out caving it in. oh i've hit tyson's 150lb bag at the catskills gym though :)

HAHAHA, the ceiling in which i hang my bags are long pieces of woods goin across the roof so i just tie it up on that with rope and trust me my roof shakes like ****, i can hear creaking from it, LOL. but dats why i put a couple 50 pound plates under the bag so it doesnt put any pressure on the roof, and when i punch it i just leave 1 plate under it so it doesnt put all 200pounds of pressure on the roof, but its harder to move the bag when theres something under it.
