View Full Version : Whats next for the Real Deal?
Falconetti 05-04-2006, 06:45 PM He doesnt appear to be rated anywhere? Why not?
When is he fighting again, and against whom. I think if he gets a better coach he could beat anyone out there.

no he could not beat anyone out there maybe in his prime but he is to old and beat up
DarkSpyder 05-04-2006, 06:49 PM Retirement please lord, as Holy would say
Falconetti 05-04-2006, 06:50 PM no he could not beat anyone out there maybe in his prime but he is to old and beat up
thats wrong. If he trained harder and drank protein shakes and stuff, he could come back. Id like to see hi unify the title.
WHere is he fighting at?
Primus 05-04-2006, 06:51 PM What's next for Holyfield??? Winning a title belt and then unifying, of course.
Holyfield is an ATG, the jokers at the top of the division are just waiting to picked off by the #1 HW of all time - Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield!!!

Why not? :) Jesus! Didn't you know that he was already stripped of his license to fight because of so many consecutive loses?
He is an old man who is past his prime. He needs to retire, that's what next for him.
Piggu 05-05-2006, 12:27 AM Losing repeatidly and then finally retiring after realizing that he will not break George Foreman's record.
PessimisticPug 05-05-2006, 12:31 AM If he keeps fighting what is next or soon to be next is an in house nurse wiping the spit that is drooling down his blank face. I wish he would just get out while he is still relatively coherent. But hey painters paint and fighters fight. Its just that for painters to end up like old fighters they would have to be inhaling their paints on a daily basis for years. Its a shame man. I hope Holyfield does not fight again and just enjoys what money the ring left him and what mind the ring left him with.

TexDeuce 05-05-2006, 02:51 AM ^^^^^ What he said. Whats next for the Real Deal if he keeps fighting is complete loss of speech and motor skills. He will be lucky to stay alive. Once a boxer gets to this point the abuse on the brain is incredible. He won't be competent in 10 years if he keeps it up.
Easy-E 05-05-2006, 02:56 AM Whats next for the real deal?---------> retirement!

totally, dude. i heard the man talking during a prefight a couple years back or what not, and it was really pretty sad, because he had a few fights(losses) after that, even. i don't know what he's trying to hold on to so dearly that it's worth passing ali up on the brain damage scale. i loved watching him fight, which is why i can't stand seeing him do this to himself. i just hope he doesn't become a statistic before he realizes it's time to take the rest of his life easy.
Da Iceman 05-05-2006, 08:05 AM i really hopes he retires. i feeel sorry for him thinking he can still be champ when he cant beat bums. holyfield needs to get out while he still has his wits and mind.
Yaman 05-05-2006, 08:11 AM Come on now, Holyfield's best days have yet to come.

Fighters are a rare breed of people. They find the most joy when intrenced in a big and brutal bout. So many fighters have held on too long to the dream and suffered because of it, while many come out seemingly unchanged.
To the fighter, the ring is what he knows, what he loves and in alot of cases the only time they really feel alive. A retired fighter going to work at some 9 to 5 job many many times will be miserable sitting and obeying the man 8 hours a day. The ring gave them their fame and fortune but its not that which they are looking for when they return. They are looking to rekindle the absolute life that flowed through them when they were fighters, the adrenaline. They will never find the staisfaction nor adrenaline that the ring brought at a regular job. They want to refind the youth and vigor that they possesed as a younger person, they step back into the ring with the delusion that they are still able to do the same things that they did in their younger years. Unfortunately, you can never reverse time. Aswell it is unfortunate that the damage their minds incur in the later years will be greater, and aswell that can not be reversed.
I hope that he retires. But I will not bash him for continuing on. He is his own man and will control his own destiny. I just hope that he doesnt get hurt.

He should retire if we are talking about the "former Real deal" Holyfield.

Very well put, and to me it's sad to seel how much he still loves the sport, and how badly he wants to recapture a title even when his time has long since passed.
