once again a large percentage of fight fans were tricked into believing this fight was bigger threat then it was
as soon as i heard this fight announced i thought
DLH-Gatti
very smart by both DLH and Tito
they came back after a break from boxing
to a threatening fighter, how ever the fighter had to move up 2 weight classes, with power but limited skills
this one sided ass whoppen was very reminiscent of DLH Pummeling Gatti
only difference was that Gatti's corner stopped the fight
Gatti and Mayorga would not have had it any other way
i knock you out or you knock me out
had they not stopped the Gatti fight Oscar too would have complete annihilated Gatti as or if not worse then how Tito Ripped Mayorga apart
but what fight should be next?
Hopkins-II-Trinidad, Hopkins-II-DLH, DLH-II-Trinidad
this one seems to be a no brainer
DLH-Trinidad
the otehr fights are still going to end up the same
altho Titos made small improvements by moving around a bit more its still not enough to beat Hopkins
With DLH hes just to small for Hopkins
DLH-Tito would be far more evenly matched not to say they can punch the same and box the same
but its not as large a difference if they went up against hopkins again

its funny as the fight was about to start my father and i began to discuss the fight, he picked mayo i picked tito
i told him how the weight would just be too much of a differnce
he yelled and argued how with his power the weight wont mean ****
but after the fight was over he explained how it was the weight difference that screwed him up
i just nodded my head and laughed

Whenever a Gatti or Mayorga is across from you in the ring, there's a chance a better skilled fighter can still get KTFO. That's part of the appeal of watching it. That's why people will swear Tyson can still be champ as long as he stays active. It keeps mainstream interest in the sport, too. When Mayorga isn't roughing up prostitutes, he's actually good for the sport.

I dont agree with the first post. I thought there was a genuine chance that Tito was going to get KOed by Mayorga. He had been off for 2.5 years and Mayorga is a very devistating puncher as we all know. I also didnt think the weight had anything to do with it either. To me and the other people watching the fight with me, Mayo looked like the bigger guy. Remember Mayo having trouble with being over weight in his last fight? Mayo looked pretty good at 160, the problem was Tito didnt miss abeat in those 2.5 years he was off and was the better man on saturday night. Its not like Mayo was the favorite in the odds book. We didnt get ripped off, it was great fight and im glad I payed 50 for it. Mayo did almost pull off the upset also. He did land some pretty big shots, its just that Tito dished out a lot more than he took.

yes there would be a threat
had they been in their weights
im saying it was more of an illusion of a threat
they both got hit by Mayo and Gatti
werent ever really hurt
maybe moved but thats only cuz they landed punches
but they were never in danger of being like serioulsy hurt
just my opinion
although its the right one

Mayorga hits way harder than Gatti. His style is also awkward. This comparison means nothing because Mayorga and Gatti are not even close.

and tito and DLH dont fight the same whats ur point?
im comparing the situation
at their respected weights
both Mayo and Gatti wouldnt be close in power punching
only that in recent time gatti has attempted to become a boxer

My point is that although Mayorga was not a legit middleweight,he
was a real threat.Gatti was not a threat to DLH back in 2001.Also
DLH was out for less than a year,Trinidad was out for 2 and a half years.Last but not least,Trinidad landed more punches and looked more dominant at a higher weight and against a guy who had never been hurt let alone KOED.

The first post is correct. Yes you can give tito credit for beating him. But lets call Mayorga what he is, and thats a punching bag with one of those bungee "opponent" bags that swings all over the place. :D

On top of it all he was over his weight, and wasnt in condition.
