what im sayin is... look at the guy who fought ward last night ... ??? he was garbage... and then they said he won like 60 amateurs fights ???? who the **** was he fighting... ??? im not full of myself , but i think if i was to put on a pair of gloves again , i would floor half these people who are professionals .... who do these people fight as amatuers???

remember phillip who fought mayweather??? who did phillip fight to even be considered as a possible opponent ???

not only that why dont these under dog pull up-sets ...if you knew you had to fight a big name fighter, wouldnt you go all out for your training ... and i mean go all out ...do everything you could possibly do , to beat this guy ... if you pull an upset then your career means something from then on...i just dont understand ,someone break it down for me ...

calm down bro. ward him self is not a contender yet. its a chance to see guys work there way up. who do you expect him to fight. you got to work your way up. before espn was the only way to really look at up and comers, hbo has been showing more of these fights now.

exactly...I guess some want every fighter below 10 fights to become the next David Reid...let them get their exposure...especially if you're an Olympic Gold Medalist...

I must disagree with you, you are full of yourself. If you strapped on the mitts with no amatuer background at all you would be pummeled into the canvas. Some of them may not be world class but they would still be able to slap you as if you were a retard.

Rockin' :boxing:

You're not very educated as far as boxing is concerned, are you?

He wasn't that bad. Just not in Ward's class. Anyway, if everyone doesn't have a chance right out of the gate, who will be fighting 5 years from now? Barrera/Morales 23? I don't want to see that crap....

people missed the question i asked... all i was asking how do these amateurs get the oppurtunity to fight when they are completely outclassed ... how do they get picked ? was my first question... then my second was why dont they pull an upset when they finally have a chance to fight on hbo or something ...

Well both were undefeated and on the undercard of a not-so-major fight. Its not that big of a deal. now if both were like 12-16 than ok, but Ward is an Olympian with a good amateur background.

I actually sort of agree with this guy. So many of the fighters today have padded records. On the way up they fight a whole lot of tomato cans. What I would like to see is ward fight a tough guy who can fight back and might have a chance to beat him. I dont mean putting him in with a top 10 or 15 guy just yet but maybe put him in with an undefeated European or Mexican prospect or something so this kid learns. He was fighting tougher opponents in the amateurs and now that he is getting paid to fight he gets to fight less talented guys. To me there is something wrong with that.
