If RJ beat Ruiz, Toney kills him. Toney is mobile, technical, and fights well on the inside. He has enough power to hurt Ruiz and a chin to take what shots Ruiz manages to land in between trying to hug him. Make your call.

I think Toney wins nearly every round but Ruiz will hold and foil, could last the distance with his ****ty crowd boring style, but i reakon Toney will stop him around the 8th or 9th round.

Ruiz won't be able to clinch against Toney, Toney is way to slick and will slowly but surely pick apart Ruiz. Im sick of watching Ruiz fight period let alone as a champion so my prediction is Toney 8th round K.O.
Hopefully Toney wins and Byrd wins his next fight and they meet up. That will be a great boxing match and they can unify some of these titles.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Ruiz win. He might be allowed to grapple and hang on Toney just enough to make Toney's inside work indecisive. Toney could wear out at this stage and get depleted because no one really knows how well he can take hard punches from top 10 heavyweight.

Ruiz will be able to clinch vs Toney. Ruiz has been able to clinch vs everyone except Roy, because Roy was too fast, especially with his feet. However, it does depend on who the ref is because if Ruiz is not allowed to hold too much, he chances lessen.

In any case, it is not logical to say that Toney will win just because Roy was able to. I definitely don't see Ruiz getting stopped.

I doubt Toney will win by KO, if Golota couldn't put Ruiz down, I don't think Toney will. More, if Toney couldn't KO Booker, he won't KO Ruiz. Toney by UD.

I agree that Toney's style will make it hard for Ruiz to Clinch. I can see Toney punishing Ruiz on the inside but if apart from the Tua fight, Ruiz hasn`t been stopped. I think Toney can stop him but might not. Only if Ruiz's size effects the fight which is unlike does Ruiz have a chance in this one.

Ruiz by ugly decision. A counterpuncher against a guy that barely throws a punch.

Toney will put lots of pressure on Ruiz and get fed up with his huggy bear tactics. Likely a bit of wrestling and lots of pleading glances at the ref from Ruiz culminating in a late fight stoppage.

Toney isnt quick enough on his feet to keep Ruiz away, Fast hands? Maybe but Toney doesnt have a tremendous reach either to keep Ruiz off. Ruiz my Unanimous Decision in another ugly fight.

The only guys to beat Ruiz are fighters who are quick on their feet and fight on the outside (jones) and possess a peek a boo style, or one who can hit really hard.

Toney is neither.

I think Ruiz will fare better than many think. First of all, Toney is not a very mobile fighter like RJJ was, and his handspeed is nowhere near as impressive. Toney had a great chin at middle and cruiserweight, but Ruiz is a heavyweight and he has a decent punch when he wants to use it. I think Ruiz's awkward punch and grab style will get to Toney like it has the majority of his previous opponents. Let's not forget the huge disparity in strength. If Ruiz is strong enough to tie up Golota, who is a powerhouse, what chance does a short lardbucket like Toney have of holding his own in the clinches?

It's going to take a taller, much stronger man like Vitali to take Ruiz out of the picture. Toney lacks the size, the strength, and the punch.

I'm not sold on Toney at heavyweight like most people are so I'll say Ruiz by boring decision. Something about Ruiz and his clinching style gets the best of his opponents.

Ruiz by UD

TONEY IS TAILOR MADE FOR RUIZ'S STYLE.

Is this fight official yet. I hear Byrd is duking out of the WK fight to persue a fight w/Toney!

The question is...if Toney beats Ruiz...will he finally get credit for beating a REAL heavyweight? Or will his critics still call him an unproven heavyweight who hasn't taken a real heavyweight punch and will get knocked out cold by a real HW?

If Toney beats Ruiz I would give him as much credit I gave Jones for beating Ruiz. I'd give him more credit if he beats Ruiz and actually goes on and beats any of the other champions.

Well we all knew that Jones wasn't going to stay at HW and try to take down the other guys in the division. I don't think Toney has intentions of leaving HW anytime soon.

I cant see anything other than Toney handing Ruiz a beat down, i just think Toneys style is perfect against Ruiz's spoiling tatics.

I just think that Ruiz is too slow to hammer Toney with multiple power shots if any. Ruiz ain't a big enough hitter to take down Toney with one shot either. That left hook body, uppercut combo is going to haunt Ruiz all night. I was surprised by some of the shots Ruiz hit Golota with...I don't see him getting those kinds of wide swinging shots in on JT.
