No seriously vargas body hasn't taken pain as well as mayorga vargas is 28 and mayorga is 34. Mayorga is in better shape and had a rougher life. So I would think that Mayorga would be tougher than Vargas. I think May 6 will be the best shape Mayorga has ever been in. But if the fight was when they were both in their prime it'd be a hell of a fight

Vargas has tried different things but he has not improved nothing much to stand in front of a good younger fighter.

He has been hit easily, right in the face.

I just stumbled upon this site and I'm a big Vargas fan. He's clearly not the same guy after his beatings from Tito and DLH but I still enjoy watching him even though he is shot and has diminished reflexes.

A pre Trinidad / DLH Vargas would easily beat Ricardo Mayorga inside 10 rounds by KO or TKO. Sadly to say if they fought today I'd have to give the edge to Mayorga. Vargas still carries the power he just doesnt have the beard to take punches like he use to.
Also ... a pre Trinidad Vargas would have beat DLH any day of the frikin week !

sorry i disagree i think DLH had his number at any point .. also i would give Vargas a small edge with mayorga at any point in time even now ..Mayorga is little more then a great tuff man fighter, he is the butterbean of the small men
