How do you guys think Marciano would do against guys like Bob Foster, Michael Spinks, Roy Jones and the cruiserweight Evander Holyfield? Bob Foster has the best left hand I've ever seen, and he's a helluva puncher, but I'm not sure he could keep Marciano off him. I'd say Marciano would get to him in the mid to late rounds. Spinks I don't know much about, but people say he was a good puncher, had a good chin, and was just a great all around fighter, so it sounds to me like he'd have a good chance against Marciano. Roy Jones has the skills and speed to beat Marciano, but one hard shot on the chin from Marciano and Jones is KTFO. I don't know who would win that one. I think Marciano would beat Holyfield, cause Holyfield would get hit and start fighting instead of boxing. That fight would be a war though.

When will people understand that Marciano was a real HW. Why are people obsessed with weights.

BTW, Marciano would be around 190 for todays standards.

Marciano would KTFO all those guys

Jones and Holyfeild would be alittle harder then the other two but if i'm not mistaken Leon spinks was better then Michael Spinks and an old, near retirement ali beat Leon Spinks so.

Jones' speed and footwork would pose a problem but Marciano would KO him in the late rounds

holyfeild is an underrated fighter but i don't think he could go with Marciano for a whole fight

I think Marciano chose to be at the weight he was. He didn't want to be too heavy. All fighters were lighter in those days though.

Back in the 50's and 60's Sonny Liston was considered huge at 6' and 218 lbs, nowadays fighters often weight over 230 lbs - which is too heavy in my oppinian, especially for 5'9" middle weight like Toney.

I think Marciano would be over 200 lbs with modern influences and training.

Bob Foster:
Rocky Marciano would have to struggle with Fosters great jab and long reach. Foster also carried a lethal punch and Marciano would have to be careful early on. But I can't see Foster being able to last the distance against Marciano. It would be alot like Foster vs. Frazier, with Marciano winning by ko.

Michael Spinks:
Another great fighter, and a very skilled boxer, he was awesome at light heavy. Facing Marciano, he would present his shorter foe with a tough challenge. He fought awkward and was great at adjusting his style. Marciano would have to take a beating, I am sure, but his stamina, chin, heart and power would help him prevail as it always did. Marciano catches up to Spinks late in the fight, and stops him in brutal fashion.

Roy Jones Jr:
Jones was fast as lightening and could move really well. This would bother Marciano, as he would struggle to find an opening against the slick Jones. But patience and stamina would be the key. After being chased around the ring for several rounds, Jones slows down, gets careless or whatever, and Marciano connects. Lights out for Jones.

Evander Holyfield:
Holyfield was a great boxer, and had the heart of a lion. His heart would spell disaster for him in this one though, as I can envision him going to war against Marciano. Marciano takes the advantage of this slugfest to win by brutal stoppage in the midrounds.

Nice post
Good K

i also like how you didn't belittle Holyfeild because he is very underrated for his heart, but no way he could go toe-to-toe with marciano, atleast he won't get his ear bitten off while he's headbutting

Marciano would beat no great heavyweight or even a good 220 pound heavyweight and 90 percent of the good or great cruiserweights would beat this overrated bum..James Toney would rip this guy a new asshole with no problem.Roy Jones would eat him up.O'neal Bell would knock him out with ease.So would Holyfield,Even light heavyweights like Moorer would beat Marciano. We all get the point.Marciano fans are losers with no life or knowledge of boxing.
The man was never a heavyweight so stop trying to compare him to heavyweights. The man never fought any world class fighters in their primes period so stop even comparing him to other 180 pound fighters sheesh..

i didn't say Leon was better then Micheal but if i recall i remember hearing that somewhere but maybe not. Everybody pics speed boxers over Marciano what people don't relize is Swarmers tend to have the advantage over speed boxers, just like how sluggers have advantage over swarmers, IMO
